Abstract: A system and method are provided, for example, for determining interests from location data, by receiving location data from a mobile device, using the location data to determine a uniform resource locator associated with a point of interest, determining classification data associated with the uniform resource locator, and updating an interest graph associated with the mobile device using the classification data. The updated interest graph may also be subsequently used and the classification data may be used to provide information to the mobile device in real-time, such as recommendations or suggestions.

Abstract: A method of controlling an electronic device, the method comprising detecting, at the electronic device, occurrence of an event for turning on an out-of-office assistant, for each account, associated with a respective PIM service, that is operational on the electronic device, determining if the PIM service is operable to receive updates, when the PIM service is operable to receive an update from the electronic device to turn on an out-of-office notification, sending the update from the electronic device to the PIM service, otherwise, sending an out-of-office notification, from the electronic device, in response to receipt of an email message at the electronic device, via the PIM service.

Abstract: A method of providing real-time traffic information entails defining a trusted group of mobile devices traveling to a common destination, obtaining traffic data from the mobile devices of the trusted group, and determining traffic information based on the traffic data for a plurality of routes to the common destination. This enables a mobile device user to determine which one of a plurality of alternate routes to a destination is optimal given prevailing traffic conditions. Since the data derives from a trusted group, unlike aggregated data, it is more likely to be considered reliable by the end user.
