  • Electronic component theft sensor and security system

    Abstract: An anti-theft system for electronic component(s) with conventional data port connectors. The invention includes a single sensor or a plurality of interconnected sensors. Each sensor includes a housing and a pair of interconnected conventional data connectors. Switching means is associated with each conventional data connector so that an open alarm circuit connected to the switching means is opened when the data connector is plugged into a compatible data connector and closed when the data connector is unplugged from a compatible data connector. Likewise, closed alarm circuitry is also connected to the switching means which is closed when the data connector is plugged into a compatible data connector and opened when the connector is unplugged and whereby if the closed alarm circuitry is cut an alarm will sound.
