  • Patent number: 5577645
Abstract: A shoulder guard for a garment hanger is erected from an essentially flat sheet of material to include a first panel and a second panel, with at least the first panel following a desired convex contour configuration to complement the garment to be hung on the hanger, the second panel being divided into a pair of sub-panels pulled longitudinally toward one another to bow at least the first panel into the desired convex contour configuration, with the sub-panels locked together by interengaged lateral slits against relative longitudinal movement, the slits defining tabs for confronting the sub-panels to shape and reinforce the sub-panels in a convex contour configuration, and indicia providing a visual indication of the proper confronting relationship between the tabs and the sub-panels.

  • Patent number: 5388734
Abstract: A shoulder guard for a wire hanger is erected from a flat blank of card stock and includes a contour configuration complementary to a jacket to be hung on the hanger so that the jacket is draped appropriately over the shoulder guard, and an ornamental device in the form of a simulated bow-tie is placed on the shoulder guard so as to be located between the lapels of the jacket, when the jacket is hung on the hanger and draped over the shoulder guard, to provide an aesthetically pleasing appearance, the relative contour configurations of the simulated bow-tie and the shoulder guard being such that the simulated bow-tie stands out in visible relief from the shoulder guard in response to erection of the shoulder guard.

  • Patent number: 5139184
Abstract: A shoulder guard for placement on a garment hanger so as to lie between the garment hanger and a garment to be hung on the garment hanger includes a sheet manufactured, assembled and folded at the manufacturing site into a flat, collapsed condition and readily unfolded in the field into an erected condition for placement on the garment hanger, without the necessity for any additional assembly operation, to provide an appropriate and improved contour for the support of the garment on the garment hanger, the sheet including first and second legs folded into a generally deep V-shaped configuration, where the legs make an acute angle to one another in a flattened collapsed condition, and unfolded into an erected condition where the legs form a relatively shallow V-shaped configuration in which the legs make an obtuse angle to one another, are aligned longitudinally in the same plane for placement over the garment hanger, and are contoured to provide the appropriate support for the garment.
