Abstract: A shipping container and display system is provided, including an inner and an outer box, and first and second trays. The outer box is telescopically slidable over the inner box. The trays are slidable within the inner box. The first tray is stackable on top of the second tray. First and second two-part dividers are provided, each having partitioned walls, each divider having a side-by-side configuration and a stacked configuration. In a shipping configuration, the dividers are disposed in the side-by-side configuration in the trays, the trays are stacked and disposed in the inner box, and the outer box is disposed over the inner box to form a shipping container. In a display configuration, the inner and outer boxes are disposed top down, the dividers are disposed in stacked configurations in the interior of the boxes, and the trays are disposed on and supported by the dividers.

The support device contains a plurality of recessed inserts to secure flowers in an upright position and accommodate bulb growth without causing damage to the bulb. The snap-fit cover creates a reservoir chamber which prevents fluid from spilling out of the container if the container is tipped or subjected to unpredictable forces or motion during transportation. The hydroponic container is ready to be displayed and marketed as soon as it is shipped from the distributor, thereby minimizing retailer and consumer involvement and expenditure of time.

The container may include soil that holds the different bulbs in relative position, with or without the partition. The container permits easy planting of a variety of flowers by a consumer without inordinate labor or much concern about depth levels, since the container automatically establishes a suitable depth for each respective type of bulb therein, once the container is properly positioned in the ground.
