  • Publication number: 20080101358
Abstract: To resolve a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) for use in routing messages in or between IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks, a query (101;201) is sent to resolve this URI from a device (120;220) to a private name server (121;221). The private name server (121;221) attempts to resolve the URI. In case of failure the method further involves the sending of a new query (104;203) for resolving the URI to a public name server (122;222). The public name server (122;222) resolves the URI in the new query (104;203).

  • Publication number: 20040133682
Abstract: The Internet Protocol mobility supporting method deals with supporting of roaming of a Mobile Node in a Mobile Internet Protocol Network from a home network towards a Visited Network. The home network comprises a home agent. The Mobile Internet Protocol Network excluding the visited network comprises a Foreign Agent. The method of the present invention comprises the step of forwarding a destination address towards the Home Agent by the Mobile Node at roaming of the Mobile Node from the home network to the visited network. Additionally, the Foreign Agent assigning entity, at request of the Mobile node assigns the Foreign Agent to the Mobile Node. Subsequently, the Home Agent establishes a path between the Home Agent and the Foreign Agent. Finally, a path between the Foreign Agent and the Mobile Node is established by the Foreign Agent based on the destination address.

  • Patent number: 6532236
Abstract: For transmission of data frames (F1, F3) between a first mobile network element (BTS1, BTS2, BTS3) and a second mobile network element (TRAU) in accordance with the ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) protocol, data frames (F1, F3) of different channels are split up in subframes (SF11, SF12, SF13; SF31, SF32, SF33), ordered and then embedded in respective minicells. Minicells (MC11, MC31) containing information of different channels are then combined into ATM cells (CELL) that are transferred between the first mobile network element (BTS1, BTS2, BTS3) and the second mobile network element (TRAU). In this way, transcoders in the second mobile network element (TRAU) can already start decoding data frames of several channels after receipt of the most urgent data which is contained in the first ATM cells (CELL).

  • Publication number: 20010053144
Abstract: Synchronization of a hand-over procedure of a mobile telecommunication terminal (MT) coupled to a second terminal (TS) via a mobile access network (UTRAN), a packet switching network (IP), and an external telecommunication network (TL). During the hand-over (MT1-MT2), the mobile terminal switches form a first media gateway (MG1) to a second media gateway (MG2), each interfacing the mobile and the packet switching networks and producing different series of reference values associated to packets transmitted to an anchor media gateway (MG0), interfacing the packet switching network and the external network. After the hand-over, the anchor media gateway (MG0) calculates the difference between a reference value received from the second media gateway (MG2) and a reference value that had been received from the first media gateway if no hand-over had occurred. This difference is then returned to the second media gateway to synchronize its series therewith, e.g.

  • Patent number: 6163547
Abstract: A mobile telecommunication system with Base Transceiver Stations (BTS1-3) coupled to a mobile terminal (MT) via a radio link and exchanging mobile information (AAL-SDU: MUD, MSI) with a telecommunication controller (TC: BSC1-2; MSC). The mobile information contains a telecommunication signaling, such as a hand-over command (HOCOM), e.g. to be transported to the telecommunication controller. According to the ITU recommendation for the ATM Adaptation Layer AAL of the type 2 or 5, the AAL-PDU packets, which may for instance be transported by ATM cells, and wherein the mobile information is mapped, include a User-to-User indication field CPS-UUI or CPCS-UU, respectively, that transparently transports user data. This field is used to transport the telecommunication signaling in the up-link connection to a Base Station Controller (BSC1-2) or to a Mobile Services switching center (MSC), or, in the down-link connection, to base transceiver station (BTS1-3).

  • Patent number: 5805580
Abstract: The present invention discloses a cell switching network which includes a cell switch (AS) coupled to a first terminal (T1) and a function unit (FU). The cell switch is also coupled to a second and a third terminal (T2,T3) via a cell switching access network (AAN). The first terminal exchanges information with the second terminal via the function unit (FU) and a predetermined part of the information is indicative of the information exchange between the first and the second terminal. The function unit is adapted to process the information and modifies the above predetermined part of the information so that it becomes indicative of information exchange between the function unit and the third terminal. The information is thereupon exchanged between the first and the third terminal via the function unit.
