Publication number: 20070264591Abstract: A method of making an imprint template includes providing a transfer layer on a substrate and providing a layer of imprintable medium on the transfer layer, using a master imprint template to imprint a pattern into the imprintable medium, polymerizing the imprintable medium by exposing it to actinic radiation, then etching the resulting polymer layer, the transfer layer and the substrate such that the imprinted pattern is transferred to the substrate, the substrate thereby becoming an imprint template bearing a pattern which is the inverse of a pattern provided on the master imprint template.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2006Publication date: November 15, 2007Applicant: ASML Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Sander Wuister, Johan Dijksman, Yvonne Kruijt-Stegeman, Ivar Schram

Publication number: 20070193461Abstract: During the manufacture of PoIyLED displays, printed elements of the LEDs are obtained by first printing bottom element layers (23a) and subsequently printing top element layers, according to a predetermined pattern. When the dimensions of a PoIyLED display are relatively large, the printing process of each layer (23a) takes place in several strokes. In order to prevent a situation in which unacceptable differences in the height distribution of the obtained elements exist, the layers (23a) of elements which are located at a circumference of a group of elements associated with one printing stroke are printed in two steps. During a first printing stroke, a first portion of the element layers (23a) is printed, whereas during a subsequent printing stroke, the remaining portion of the element layers (23a) is printed. Consequently, the printing strokes are performed in an overlapping manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2005Publication date: August 23, 2007Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS, N.V.Inventors: Jan-Eric RUBINGH, Roy VERBEEK, Ivo CAMPS, Johan DIJKSMAN, Adrianus VAN KASTEREN

Publication number: 20060279602Abstract: A method for controlling printing actions of a print head (1) comprising pumps (10) filled with ink (18), and actuators (16) for generating actuation pulses acting on the ink (18), comprises the step of determining a characteristic frequency of the pumps (10). As the characteristic frequency of the pumps (10) is directly related to the geometry of the pumps (10), the characteristic frequency can be used as an indicator of the state of the pumps (10) and the volume of the ink droplets emitted by the pumps (10). In case a slight change of the characteristic frequency is detected, the actuation pulse is adjusted in order to still meet the requirements regarding the volume of the ink droplets. In case a relatively large change of the characteristic frequency is detected, the printing action of the pump (10) concerned is stopped, and may be taken over by another pump (10).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2004Publication date: December 14, 2006Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Johan Dijksman, Steven Kleijer

Publication number: 20050190253Abstract: The present invention provides a matrix substrate for controlling liquids printed on the substrate and a method of fabrication of such. According to the invention, a substrate holding a matrix of pixels for receiving and holding printed liquids is fabricated in a deformable and flexible polymeric material which allows for raised structures (barriers) separating the pixels to be formed in the substrate material itself. This renders possible a number of new methods of fabrication for the fabrication of matrix substrates, e.g. for use in polyLED displays. The materials and methods of fabrication according to the invention further remove a number of limitations in the freedom of design known from materials and methods of fabrication according to the prior art. This leads to the possibility of barrier profiles with overhanging structures, improved resolution and new dimension ranges.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2003Publication date: September 1, 2005Inventors: Paulus Duineveld, Johan Dijksman
