  • Publication number: 20090262345
Abstract: The invention relates to an immersion probe (1) for a device for carrying out laser-induced plasma spectroscopy in a liquid or solid free-flowing material, such as a metallic melt, which immersion probe (1) has a tubular section (4) extending from a foot-side end (2) of the immersion probe (1) about a longitudinal axis (X) of the same and an opening for material to flow in. In order to be able to reliably determine, in particular, a chemical composition of a melt independently of an angle of inclination of the immersion probe with respect to a surface of the melt, it is provided according to the invention that the tubular section (4) is embodied essentially closed or closeable on the foot-side end (2) and has a lateral opening (5) through which the material can be inserted into the tubular section as a free flowing jet (12) directed at an angle (?) to the longitudinal axis (X).

  • Patent number: 7006216
Abstract: A device for the chemical analysis of solid or molten material samples, based on laser-induced emission spectroscopy, including a laser source generating a laser beam, a deflection device deflecting the laser beam, a focusing device focusing the laser beam, a device that guides the reflections of a plasma ignited by the laser beam on the material sample to an evaluation device. To arrange the laser source and the evaluation device remotely from the material sample, an arm having at least one movable joint and a cavity for the laser beam is provided between the laser source and the material sample for guiding the laser beam. The deflection device is shaped as a mirror or a prism and is provided at the articulation of the arm, whereby the laser source and the evaluation device are arranged to be independent of the material sample in terms of their movements.

  • Publication number: 20030218747
Abstract: A device for the chemical analysis of solid or molten material samples (8), based on the laser-induced emission spectroscopy, is provided with a laser source (10) generating a laser beam (11), a deflection device deflecting the laser beam, a focusing device focusing the laser beam (11) as well as a device (14) that guides the reflections (26) of a plasma (25) ignited by the laser beam (11) on the material sample (8) to an evaluation device (28) such as a spectrometer.

  • Patent number: 5505566
Abstract: A powder injector creates a powder-air mixture and feeds the mixture to a powder coating gun. The injector comprises a powder suction conduit, an injector nozzle fitted in the powder suction conduit, a mixing cone with a venturi tube connected thereto, the mixing cone being disposed downstream of the injector nozzle, a conveying air supply conduit including a control valve for feeding conveying air to the injector nozzle, and a metering air supply conduit for feeding metering air to metering air outlet ports opening into the venturi tube. The metering air supply conduit is composed of two parallel branch passageways branching off the conveying air supply conduit and opening into a common supply conduit leading to the metering air outlet ports. One of the two branch passageways has a metering air control valve disposed therein which is actuated by the air pressure prevailing in the conveying air supply conduit.

  • Patent number: 5188290
Abstract: In an electrostatic compressed air paint spray gun, the overall exit area of the compressed air discharge opening as well as the pressure and the quantity of the supplied compressed air are dimensioned such and matched such to one another that, first, the ratio (V.sub.L) of the air pressure (P.sub.1) prevailing immediately upstream of the compressed air discharge opening to the air pressure (P.sub.2) prevailing downstream of the compressed air discharge opening is less than 2:1 and, second, quantity and flow rate of the compressed air emerging from the compressed air discharge opening and magnitude of the applied high-voltage guarantee an adequate atomization of the paint as well as a conveying of the atomized paint particles to the workpiece with a given paint throughput and given paint viscosity. A high precipitation efficiency and a good paint compass are thus achieved.

  • Patent number: 5140935
Abstract: A fluidization and conveyor arrangement for electrostatic powder coating devices. The arrangement includes a container pivotable by 180.degree. on a carrying frame, and a cover, having a fluidization plate. A powder discharge tube and a compressed air tube pass through the cover and into the container. A transport package, for example a sack filled with powder, is introduced into the container. The container is then closed with the cover, and is pivoted by 180.degree. to an operating position, in which fluidization and discharge of the powder may be affected.
