    Abstract: The system 10 for identifying a vehicle includes a code generator 12 which generates a code in response to the provision of predetermined data relating to features of the vehicle. The code is generated on a slip of paper which is affixed to the vehicle. A number of code readers 14 is provided for reading the code, decrypting the code and extracting information relating to the features of the vehicle from the code to determine whether or not the code applies to that vehicle.
