Abstract: A method of delivering services in a wireless communications system comprising a radio access network and a core network, the method comprising the steps of: establishing a radio access bearer for delivering one of a set of services to an end user via a signalling channel, each service having certain delivery requirements; determining in the radio access network that the delivery requirement for one of said services cannot be met; advising the core network that the delivery requirement for the said one service cannot be met; and providing a radio access bearer to allow at least one other service in the set to be delivered to that end user.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication with a first station arranged to transmit at least one transmission to be received by a plurality of second stations to provide a point to multipoint transmission. A first determining step determines in at least one of a plurality of second stations, if at least one transmission which is received at least one second station satisfies predetermined criterias. In response to information determined in said first determining step, a second determining step determines if a first station is to change a power level with which the first station transmits to the plurality of second stations in a point to multipoint transmission. A power changing step changes the power level with which said first station transmits power if the second determining step determines that the power level is to be changed.

Abstract: A method usually for notifying a station of a wireless data transmission session in a communication system is disclosed. The data transmission session is typically receivable by a plurality of stations, usually located within a service area defined in the communication system. The method includes sending on at least one broadcasting channel notifications regarding the wireless data transmission session. A communication system for embodying the method and a message for carrying the required information is also described.

Abstract: A communications system comprising a first plurality of cells operating in accordance with a first mode and a second plurality of cells operating in accordance with a second mode, each of said cells being served by a respective first station, at least one second station arranged to establish a connection with at least one first station, said at least one second station being associated with said first plurality of cells or said second plurality of cells during said connection and means for determining which plurality of cells said second station is associated after said connection has been completed.
