Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for the treatment of fruits and/or vegetables, and especially for the coating of pomes, such as apples and pears. Particularly, fruits and/or vegetables are treated with a physical treatment and particularly a cold plasma treatment, optionally followed by another treatment. The terms “fruits” and “vegetables” are used in accordance with the present invention in broad sense and comprise all kinds of edible products of nature including fruits in the botanical sense, pomes, pseudo carps, tubers, bulbs, greens, cabbages etc.
