  • Patent number: 11703325
Abstract: A surveying instrument for executing a relocation functionality, which determines first coordinates of a stationary target point associated with the start signal, in response to a start signal, a first actuator and a second actuator are controlled such that the stationary target point remains within a detection area of a tracking unit of the surveying instrument, determines second coordinates of the stationary target point, receives an end signal, wherein the second coordinates of the stationary target point are associated with the end signal, and based at least in part on the first and second coordinates of the stationary target point, and determines a relative pose of the surveying instrument with respect to a first setup location and a second setup location, wherein the first setup location is associated with the first coordinates and the second setup location is associated with the second coordinates.

  • Publication number: 20220011105
Abstract: A geodetic instrument with a base module and a surveying or projection module. A processor for control of the instrument is situated in the base module. The surveying or projection module is rotatable about two axes by a drive unit of the base. The instrument comprises a mechanical interface connecting the surveying or projection module to the base module and an optical or electrical contact interface between the base module and the geodetic surveying or projection module. The interfaces are designed such that the surveying or projection module is mountable to the base module and dismountable from the base module by a user, whereby the geodetic instrument is designed for mounting of various surveying or projection modules of different geodetic type and execution of accordingly different geodetic surveying or projection functions.

  • Publication number: 20210223042
Abstract: A geodetic instrument, e.g. a total station, laser scanner, laser tracker or laser level, for example for construction works. The geodetic instrument is separated into a static base part and a rotatable targeting part. The base part comprises a power unit for powering the geodetic instrument and the targeting part comprises a surveying and/or projection module for geodetic surveying and/or projection in a changeable target direction. Any change of the target direction is effected with the base part remaining static wherefore the targeting part is rotatable relative to the base part. The base part inertia is equal to or greater than the target part inertia.
