  • Patent number: 8375670
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating assembly (1) in a mobile object such as a ship or aircraft, the mobile object having carrier parts that are upstanding with respect to a wall and a carrier part being covered over in cross-section by a holding part (5), there also being a sheet-like insulating part (7) that is held between two carriers as a result of clamping formations (6) on the holding part (5). In order to provide an advantageous insulating assembly in a mobile object, it is proposed that the insulating part (7) comprises a foam-like self-supporting element (8) that is optionally covered over on one or both sides by a covering layer.

  • Patent number: 8287146
Abstract: The invention relates to a foam part (1), in particular for suspended arrangement in a room, for example for use as a sound absorber (2), with an acoustic region of the foam part which has an outer contour being illuminated by a lighting element (11), further with the lighting element (11) being mounted on the foam part (1) and being disposed within the outer contour of the foam part (1). In particular, the invention also relates to a foam part (1) which is fixed, as a sound absorber (2), in a suspended manner to a room ceiling (3) or room wall, a lighting element (11) which is mounted on the sound absorber (2) and illuminates a subregion of the foam part (1), being provided in said foam part.

  • Publication number: 20060118355
Abstract: The invention relates to a sound absorber, in particular for motor vehicles, and to a method for producing the same. It is the object of the invention to provide an acoustically effective component for motor vehicles, which component not only provides a good sound absorbing effect but also good temperature resistance and good ability to recover or right itself after being subjected to compression. To meet this object, a sound absorber is proposed that is made from an open-pore moulded part (7) made from cork particles and a heat-reactive binder, wherein the percentage of binder in the moulded part (7) is at most 1 to 20% by weight. According to the invention the sound absorber is produced in such a way that the cork particles with the heat-reactive binder are placed in a hollow space (4) of a moulding tool designed in the manner of an injection moulding tool. Hardening of the binder is preferably triggered by the binder being subjected to water vapour (20) in the hollow space (4) of the moulding tool (1).

  • Publication number: 20060076716
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the shaping of web-like or sheet-like semifinished products (7, 8) made of open-pored plastic using a multipart forming tool (1), whose tool parts (2, 3), which may be moved toward and away from one another, define a cavity (4) having at least one mold structure. The present invention is essentially characterized in that at least one section of web-like or sheet-like semifinished product made of open-pored material is shaped in the cavity of the forming tool (1) by inflating a balloon or hose (18) made of elastic material which is assigned to the cavity (4). In this way, both open-pored thermoplastic materials and open-pored duroplastic materials can be shaped effectively and cost-effectively. In particular, the method according to the present invention allows the manufacture of open-pored shaped parts having undercuts (23, 24). The present invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the present invention.
