Patents by Inventor Johannes Moosheimer

Johannes Moosheimer has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7328092
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for monitoring brake signals in a vehicle with a gearbox control unit and engine control unit. An error recognition or a plausibility control of said brake signals is carried out. Brake light signals can be received by a gearbox control unit or an engine control unit. Brake light switch signals can be guided by a CAN bus. A cable break or defective contacts or a short-circuit can be considered as errors.

  • Patent number: 7306539
Abstract: A method of controlling at least a fifth characteristic operating value of a motor vehicle power train includes the step of performing an emergency adaptation of at least one of the stored clutch-disengagement thresholds during an operating phase of the motor vehicle, if predetermined third conditions are present. The method also includes the step of performing a nonemergency adaptation of at least one of the stored clutch-disengagement thresholds at the end of the operating phase if predetermined fourth conditions are present.

Inventors: Oliver Amendt, Peter Buhrle, Mario Jung, Jurgen Gerhart, Johannes Moosheimer
  • Publication number: 20060142120
Abstract: A first characteristic operating value, for example the amount of transmissible clutch torque, in a motor vehicle power train with an engine is controlled by using at least a second characteristic value. The second characteristic value is subject to adaptation, if necessary, during an operating phase of the motor vehicle. The method steps are: starting the engine; and assuring that for a predetermined first time period after starting the engine, the first characteristic operating value is controlled independently of the second characteristic value, wherein the predetermined first time period depends on at least one predetermined third characteristic operating value.

  • Patent number: 7062986
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are taught for controlling the operation of a power train in a motor vehicle (1), which may include controlling a clutch actuating mechanism (20) so as to open a clutch (3) in a vehicle pull mode. Then, a transmission (4) may be changed from a first gear position to a second gear position via a neutral position by moving a transmission actuator. At or about the same time, the ignition angle of a spark-ignited combustion engine (2) is preferably shifted during the gear change step to cause the combustion engine to generate a negative engine torque. As a result, engine speed is decreased when the transmission is disposed in the neutral position and a desired engine torque can be rapidly realized as soon as the transmission actuator is disposed in the second gear position. Thereafter, the clutch is closed again.

  • Publication number: 20050071065
Abstract: A method for controlling a transmission of a vehicle, especially an automated transmission and/or an automated clutch. A starting characteristic curve is used to adjust a nominal torque of the clutch, the characteristic curve is modified in order to adapt to different operating states of the vehicle, in such a way that the desire of the driver is taken into account when the vehicle is brought into motion.
