  • Publication number: 20140068805
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Spinacia oleracea seed designated 51-332 RZ, which exhibits medium bolting, an erect plant habit, smooth mature leaves with a three-sided shape and resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora farinosa f. sp. spinaciae) races Pfs1 to Pfs13 and strain UA4410. The present invention also relates to a Spinacia oleracea plant produced by growing the 51-332 RZ seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the spinach cultivar, represented by spinach variety 51-332 RZ.

  • Publication number: 20140068803
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Spinacia oleracea seed designated 51-337 RZ, which exhibits very slow bolting, dark green semi-savoy leaves, and resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora farinosa f.sp. spinaciae) races Pfs1 to Pfs10 and intermediate resistance to races Pfs 11 and 12. The present invention also relates to a Spinacia oleracea plant produced by growing the 51-337 RX seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the spinach cultivar, represented by spinach variety 51-337 RZ.

  • Publication number: 20130171323
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Lactuca sativa seed designated 45-21 RZ, which exhibits a combination of traits including resistance to downy mildew (Bremia lactucae) races Bi:1 to Bl:28 and CA-I to CA-VIII, resistance to currant-lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri) biotype Nr:0, very slow bolting, moderately to deeply incised margins of the mature leaves and a large head size. The present invention also relates to a Lactuca sativa plant produced by growing the 45-21 RZ seed. • Publication number: 20120291151
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Lactuca sativa var. longifolia Lam. seed designated as 41-101 RZ, which has leaves with a hollow main vein, broad base leaves, and exhibits resistance against downy mildew (Bremia lactucae Regel.), and currant-lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri). The present invention also relates to a Lactuca sativa var. longifolia Lam. plant produced by growing the “41-101 RZ” seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the lettuce cultivar, represented by lettuce variety 41-101 RZ.

  • Patent number: 5977443
Abstract: A plant in the Compositae family in which the Nr gene, for resistance to Nasonovia ribisnigri (a troublesome lettuce aphid) is present without any associated genetic information responsible for "Compact growth and Rapid Aging," or CRA, at least to the extent that the CRA phenotype is not expressed. The resistance gene preferably originates from L. virosa. The removal or change of the genetic information resulting in the CRA phenotype is caused by recombination event(s) in the vicinity of the gene. Plants are generally selected in which one or more recombination events have taken place, either in the same or in successive generations. Such recombination events may be accomplished either by meiotic crossing-over or by the use of molecular biology tools such as the AFLP technique known in the art.
