  • Publication number: 20110204543
Abstract: A method for the preparation of a reinforced polyvinyl chloride device including the steps: a) preparing a pre-reinforced polymer by mixing polyvinyl chloride polymer with a quantity A of a naturally occurring mineral filler at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the polyvinyl chloride polymer; and b) mixing the pre-reinforced polymer obtained under a) with a quantity B of a naturally occurring mineral filler at a temperature higher than 180° C. to obtain a reinforced polyvinyl chloride polymer.

  • Publication number: 20040116840
Abstract: The Chest-positioner/pad Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation System (CCPRS) provides improved resuscitation during one-person or two-person CPR. The simple, compact, portable and cost-effective system provides for manual, mechanical or electrical driven external chest compressions via a socket connection to a chest-positioner/pad unit. The chest-positioner/pad unit provides greater control of compression positioning providing adequate and reproducible chest compressions while preventing rib fractures and damage to vital internal organs. A module gives providers feedback to enable a provider to apply an appropriate compressive force in an appropriate direction, recurringly under emergency conditions. The present invention also provides improved blood circulation, oxygenation and gas exchange by expanding the chest past its normal relaxation point during diastole.

  • Patent number: 6126588
Abstract: A flexible magnetic pad for therapeutic use having single pole magnetic surfaces includes a mixture of a flexible synthetic material and magnetic particles having a high magnetic retentivity with a residual induction of at least 0.8 Tesla. Preferably, the synthetic material is silicone rubber and the magnetic particles are Neodymium-Iron-Boron. Sealing layers of flexible synthetic material surround the mixture to prevent disengagement of the particles. The pad is form-fitting to the contours of the body and has an elasticity enabling 200% elongation.

  • Patent number: 5594615
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the reduction of the intensity of magnetic field emissions from display devices and other magnetic field emitters comprising an active magnetic field bucking system and a passive magnetic shield, for use either singularly or in combination. Various circuits are disclosed for generating a bucking current necessary to buck the emitted magnetic field. The magnetic shield comprises a material selected from the group consisting of manganese or aluminum doped yttrium aluminum or yttrium iron garnet, iron doped glass, iron based thin films, ferrous fluoride, ferrous borate, and combinations thereof.
