Abstract: A method of preventing or alleviating a migraine headache in a patient subject to migraine headaches comprises administering to the patient daily, for an effective period of time, a daily effective amount of a dietary supplementation of serotonin and norepinephrine precursors to increase the level of serotonin and norepinephrine in the patient.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating a train of up-and down-and up-staircase shaped electrical pulses whose peak negative amplitude is two-thirds of its peak positive amplitude and whose frequency can be varied between one hertz and one thousand hertz and applying these electrical pulses to the body for the treatment of nerve function and impairment and pain.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for noninvasive monitoring of the intracranial pressure of mammals. The method preferably consists of occluding the jugular vein at a selected location so as to interrupt the flow of blood temporarily and then determining the rate of change of blood flow within the jugular vein upstream of such location over a predetermined period of time following its occlusion. Means controlled by the operation of a computer may be utilized for automatically occluding the jugular and for inducing detectable electrical signals representative of the flow of blood within the jugular.
