  • Patent number: 5120709
Abstract: Compositions and methods for enhancing the quality of applied fragrances by means of a fixative agent. The fixative agent may be a nitro musk, or a macrocyclic, hydroaromatic polycyclic, or oxahydroaromatic compound. The fixative is applied independently, in a separate application from that of the fragrance form. The method imparts the body, richness and persistence of perfume fragrances to less costly fragrance forms, such as colognes.
