  • Publication number: 20130048657
Abstract: A plastic handle for a paint bucket has a unitary elongated hard plastic body terminating at opposed ends. Located at each end are respective outwardly-biased, inwardly-bendable clip arms that together establish a resilient clip for engaging a hub of a paint bucket. An alternate clip may be a single unitary arrow-shaped structure. Surrounding each clip is a respective raised hub cover with opposed chamfered sides configured for conveniently Fitting in a paint shaker machine. Wider portions of the body extend inwardly from each end and merge with a central narrower portion that has finger bumps formed on it for gripping. Owing to the small width of the central narrow portion, the handle is disposed very close to the paint bucket in a stowed position in which the handle is moved down against the bucket, to facilitate convenient close stowage of multiple buckets.

  • Patent number: 7692058
Abstract: Mercury is removed from contaminated waste by firstly applying a sulfur reagent to the waste. Mercury in the waste is then permitted to migrate to the reagent and is stabilized in a mercury sulfide compound. The stable compound may then be removed from the waste which itself remains in situ following mercury removal therefrom.

Date of Patent: April 6, 2010
    Assignee: Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC

  • Patent number: 6945689
Abstract: A system for mixing paint and for holding a container of paint having a cover engaging a body is disclosed. The system comprises a rotary mixer comprising a holder configured for receiving the container. The system also comprises a clamp comprising an arm configured to pivot from a first position to a second position and a plate configured for positioning between a first linear position and a second linear position. The plate in the second linear position maintains the engagement of the cover of the container to the body by compression to inhibit leakage of the paint. A method of mixing paint with a rotary mixer is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6945690
Abstract: A holder for mixing a container of paint is disclosed. The system comprising a body having a cover and a base. The system also comprises an aperture in the cover of the body. The system also comprises a cavity in the body and accessible through the aperture and configured to receive the container. The density of the body corresponds to the density of the container of paint. A system for holding and mixing a container of paint having a lid secured to a first body is also disclosed. A system for holding and mixing a first container of paint having a first volume and a second container of paint having a second volume less than the first volume is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20040240314
Abstract: An insert for a container includes an outer wall, a upstanding spout, and a bottom wall. The outer wall is configured to fit within an opening of the container and defines the periphery of the insert. The outer wall has a lower edge and an upper edge that is disposed at a first elevation. The upstanding spout is located within the outer wall and includes at least one substantially straight portion. The straight portion has a lower edge as well as a substantially straight upper edge that is disposed at a second elevation less than the first elevation. The bottom wall connects the lower edge of the outer wall and the lower edge of the spout to form a channel between the outer wall and the spout.
