  • Publication number: 20190141980
Abstract: An apparatus for vaporizing and dispensing a pesticide features an elongated body structure, and heatsink attached to the elongated body structure at a distal end thereof. A loading port on the elongated structure feeds solid pesticide material into a closed-ended vaporization chamber inside the heatsink via a delivery passage running longitudinally of the elongated structure. A heater is operably arranged with the heatsink to vaporize the solid pesticide material. The heatsink interior features a second exhaust chamber that is radially offset from the vaporization chamber, and is only fluidly communicated therewith by a radial port near the end of the vaporization chamber fed by the delivery passage. The loaded solid pesticide falls past the radial port into the vaporization chamber, while the resulting vapor is forced through the radial port into the exhaust chamber by pressurized air fed through the delivery passage.

  • Publication number: 20180269520
Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of a force to enhance the performance of an electrochemical cell. The force may comprise, in some instances, an anisotropic force with a component normal to an active surface of the anode of the electrochemical cell. In the embodiments described herein, electrochemical cells (e.g., rechargeable batteries) may undergo a charge/discharge cycle involving deposition of metal (e.g., lithium metal) on a surface of the anode upon charging and reaction of the metal on the anode surface, wherein the metal diffuses from the anode surface, upon discharging. The uniformity with which the metal is deposited on the anode may affect cell performance. For example, when lithium metal is redeposited on an anode, it may, in some cases, deposit unevenly forming a rough surface. The roughened surface may increase the amount of lithium metal available for undesired chemical reactions which may result in decreased cycling lifetime and/or poor cell performance.

  • Patent number: 9351437
Abstract: A tool bar apparatus has an elongate tool bar having a longitudinal tool bar axis, and ground engaging tools fixed thereto. Wheels are rotatably fixed to the tool bar and roll about a rotational axis parallel to the tool bar. A hitch frame is pivotally attached at a rear end thereof to the tool bar about a hitch pivot axis parallel to the tool bar axis, and has a hitch tongue at a front end thereof. An actuator pivots the tool bar about the hitch pivot axis from an operating position, where the ground engaging tools extend rearward, to a transport position where the ground engaging tools extend upward from the tool bar. The wheels move rearward under the tool bar when the tool bar pivots from the operating position to the transport position such that a downward force is exerted on the hitch tongue when in the transport position.

  • Publication number: 20140079994
Abstract: Electrochemical cells, and more specifically, release systems for the fabrication of electrochemical cells are described. In particular, release layer arrangements, assemblies, methods and compositions that facilitate the fabrication of electrochemical cell components, such as electrodes, are presented. In some embodiments, methods of fabricating an electrode involve the use of a release layer to separate portions of the electrode from a carrier substrate on which the electrode was fabricated. For example, an intermediate electrode assembly may include, in sequence, an electroactive material layer, a current collector layer, a release layer, and a carrier substrate. The carrier substrate can facilitate handling of the electrode during fabrication and/or assembly, but may be released from the electrode prior to commercial use.
