  • Publication number: 20050209107
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the treatment of hydrogen sulfide. The method preferably includes forming a solvent-surfactant blend, preparing a microemulsion by combining the solvent-surfactant blend with a carrier fluid and contacting the hydrogen sulfide with the microemulsion. In preferred embodiments, the solvent-surfactant blend includes a surfactant and a solvent selected from the group consisting of terpenes and alkyl or aryl esters of short chain alcohols.

  • Patent number: 5180380
Abstract: An orthopaedic system is provided which includes a plurality of support members, a plurality of rods interconnecting the support members, a plurality of pins attached to the support members for passing through bone of a patient, and an automatic drive device to control an adjustment mechanism of the rods to adjust the rod length of the rods to alter the relative positions of the support members. The drive device includes at least one motor for incrementally adjusting the adjustment mechanism of at least one of the rods and a controller device for providing pulses to the motor and for storing information regarding the number of stepwise adjustments of the rod length by the motor.

  • Patent number: 4082838
Abstract: 1. A continuous cyclic process for preparing hydrazine comprising the step of:(a) contacting in a non-aqueous medium at least one haloamine of the formula NH.sub.2 --X, wherein X is a halogen, with at least one material selected from the group consisting of the metals of Groups IA and IIA and the amides thereof to provide an anhydrous mixture containing hydrazine and a metal halide;(b) separating said hydrazine from said anhydrous mixture;(c) subjecting the hydrazine-poor residue of step (b) to direct current electrolysis to separate the metal component and the halogen component of said metal halide from each other; and(d) recycling said metal for reaction with fresh haloamine in step (a).
