  • Publication number: 20150262506
Abstract: The present Lunchin system automatically monitors a student's food selections, identifies the quality of the choices that are made, and provides points for positive meal choices to allow access to specific rewards which further encourage a healthy lifestyle, with reports being available to the school and/or the student's parents. This system typically is implemented in a cafeteria environment, where a student is presented with a variety of food choices pursuant to a meal offering in a school environment. The student is identified prior to their making selections, the selections are tracked, and the relevant data about the content of the selections is compiled to create a record of the student's food choices as well as an analysis of the quality of these food choices. The system can include an alert functionality to advise the student when their selection violates a predetermined student-specific health factor that is stored in the system.

  • Patent number: 9085396
Abstract: A container includes a bottle, a closure, and a ring. The bottle includes a body, a neck extending away from the body and defining an opening, and a pair of opposed ledges. Threads extend around the neck. The ledges extend radially outwardly from the neck spaced from the body and the threads. Each ledge defines a surface facing away from the body and includes an extension extending from the surface. The closure is secured over around the neck. The closure is positioned on an opposite side of the surface of each ledge as compared to the body and includes internal ramps interfacing with the extensions to maintain the closure in place. The ring is positioned between the body and the ledges. The ring is entirely maintained below the surfaces of the ledges, and each ledge interacts with the ring to maintain the ring in place relative to the bottle.

  • Patent number: 8870004
Abstract: A pharmacy container comprises a bottle and a ring. The bottle includes a body defining a storage chamber, a neck extending away from the body and defining an opening opposite and providing access to the body, and a pair of opposed ledges each extending radially outwardly from the neck and spaced from the body. The neck includes threads extending around an outside surface of the neck, and the pair of opposed ledges are positioned between the body and the threads. The ring defines an interior wall, an exterior wall, and a pair of opposed indentations radially extending through the interior wall toward the exterior wall. The ring is positioned around the neck with the pair of opposed indentations positioned adjacent the pair of opposed ledges such that interaction between the pair of opposed indentations and the pair of opposed ledges maintains the ring in position relative to the bottle.

  • Patent number: 8758322
Abstract: A dispensing insert is configured to friction fit within a neck of a bottle and to selectively receive an oral syringe. The dispensing insert includes a hollow cylinder, a top plate capping one end of the hollow cylinder, a raised deck extending substantially parallel to and spaced from the top plate, and an annular side wall extending from the top plate upwardly toward the raised deck. The raised deck has a smaller outer diameter than the top plate and defines an opening therethrough configured to provide access to contents of the pharmacy bottle through the dispensing insert. The annular sidewall substantially encompasses an outer perimeter of the raised deck.

  • Patent number: 6640987
Abstract: A child resistant closure and container according to the present invention include a container having a neck with an engagement mechanism such as an external thread. The container also includes at least one container lug, and preferably a pair of lugs disposed on opposite sides of the container. The child resistant closure includes a top wall with at least one skirt depending from the top wall. Locking teeth are disposed in a set on the inner surface of the skirt, with the locking teeth being arranged circumferentially around a portion of the inner surface, and the locking teeth being arranged axially offset from one another. • Patent number: 6076689
Abstract: A child resistant adult friendly container and closure device is provided with a pivot arm on the container which engages a detent on the closure. The pivot arm carries on one end a press tab and on an opposite end a locking lug. The locking lug engages with the detent to prevent the closure from being rotated in an opening direction. To open the closure, the press tab is manually depressed, causing the pivot arm to pivot about a point on the container such that the locking lug disengages from the detent on the closure. The closure can thus be unscrewed in a opening direction to obtain the contents of the container.

  • Patent number: 5445022
Abstract: A device for measuring a powdered or granular product includes a product receptacle having an open end, a side wall surrounding the open end and a sealing member disposed opposite the open end and coupled to the side wall. The side wall is coupled to the sealing member so that product received in the receptacle can leave the receptacle only through the open end. The device further includes a handle extending, a first end of which is coupled to the side wall so that a consumer of the product may rotate the handle from an initial position for packing the measuring device and the product into the package to a measuring position for measuring desired quantities of the product. When in the initial position, the handle extends from the side wall substantially parallel to the first direction and, when in the measuring position, the handle extends away from the side wall in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction.
