  • Publication number: 20190227888
Abstract: A multi-node data storage system comprises a first data storage system having an owner node and a backup node in a first location coupled to a second data storage system having an owner node and a backup node in a second location. Each storage system includes a copy of the same data volume. A failure of a node of the multi-node storage system is detected. An outstanding write request to the first storage system is identified. If the owner node in the first storage system fails, it is determined whether the outstanding write corresponds to a host write to the backup node of the first storage system. If so, a retransmission message is sent to the second storage system. Otherwise, the data region associated with the outstanding write request is read from the first storage system, and a resynchronization message is sent to the second storage system.

  • Patent number: 10357114
Abstract: A cushioning device for a body support such as a mattress, seat, sofa, or the like where support is obtained from a fluid in fluid cells having a spring bias. The cushioning device is self-inflating, self-adjusting, and provides a low interface pressure under the entire contact surface of a patient. Shear force scraping damage is prevented by a sleeve apparatus. A support system apparatus provides separately adjustable pressure support zones. For physical therapy, an alternating pressure system provides alternating lifting and lowering pressure zones under a patient.

  • Publication number: 20190179687
Abstract: A method and apparatus for validating operation of a data volume on a storage medium. A data integrity component is provided which writes data blocks to the volume in a sequence, each data block storing a sequence number and also write status information specifying the sequence numbers of those preceding data blocks in the stream which are still being written to the volume at the time the data block is generated. Data validation is performed by reading back the stored data blocks from the volume and checking that the sequence numbers stored in them match those that should be present based on the sequence numbers stored in the write status information of the last-written data block found on the volume.

  • Publication number: 20180195344
Abstract: A ladder leveler features at least one linear actuator with a respective electric motor operable to drive extension and retraction of an output shaft of the actuator, a distal end of which carries a respective ground foot. Each actuator is attached or attachable to a respective side rail of the ladder in a position placing the respective foot proximate a lower end of the side rail when in a retracted position. Under operation of the actuator in an extending direction, the output shaft drives the foot downwardly past the bottom end of the side rail to effectively lengthen the bottom end of the side rail. At least one battery is mounted or mountable to said ladder and connected or connectable to said electric linear actuators to control extension and collapse thereof, and a wired/wireless control system is operable to control extension and retraction of the first and second linear actuators.

  • Publication number: 20180133735
Abstract: A can body spraying machine comprises a can body spinning device, a spray gun for spraying a coating onto an interior of a can body mounted on the can body spinning device and a controller configured to cause the spray gun to switch when the can body spinning device is in a correct spraying position. A sensor coupled to the can body spinning device determines when the can body spinning device has undergone a predefined rotation following commencement of spraying and, in response to such determination, causes the spray gun to be switched off.

  • Patent number: 9956653
Abstract: A method of manufacture of a cladding body for an edge of an aerofoil, the method including the step of providing a core member shaped to include an elongate recess portion for mounting on the edge of the aerofoil, the elongate recess portion being shaped across its width to define a smoothly curved concave surface. A support member is provided; the support member has a support portion for complementary engagement with the recess portion. Both the support member and the core member are arranged between a pair of opposing membranes. The core member is bonded to each of the pair of membranes to form an intermediate cladding body, wherein the recess portion of the core member is arranged to engage, at least during the bonding step, the support portion to be supported thereby. At least the membranes are shaped using a hot forming process.

The urinary absorbent and retention pouch includes an expandable pocket for containing male genitalia and absorbing and retaining urine discharge resulting from male incontinence. The pocket includes a flexible and elastic material for enabling the pocket to stretch. An elastic band defines an opening for providing access into the pocket and provides sufficient tension to sustain the pouch around the male genitalia. The pocket includes an absorbent interior layer for absorbing secreted urine and a liquid-impermeable exterior layer for retaining the urine in the pouch and preventing soiling. A removably attachable flap provides access to the male genitalia while the pouch is worn. A plurality of accordion pleats enables the pocket to expand its shape while in motion. • Patent number: 9027031
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method allows an application running in a first process to communicate with a second process. A file system filter driver receives a command from the application for a file. The file system filter driver is configured to process file system commands. The file system filter driver determines that the command is for an inter-process communication with a service running in the second process based on the command being for the file. Then, the file system filter driver sends the command to the service running in the second process where the command is processed by the service. A response from the service is received based on the command being processed by the service and the file system filter driver sends the response to the application.
