Publication number: 20230020472Abstract: Embodiments include spray mops with fluid reservoirs and integrated locking mechanisms. The locking mechanism selectively locks a base of the spray mop to its handle when the handle is substantially vertical to the base, to prevent the base from pivoting relative to the handle. When so engaged, the spray mop can stand vertically on its base without requiring external support. Some embodiments include a detachable spray nozzle for separate application of cleaning solution contained within the fluid reservoir. Some further embodiments include a deployable kickstand. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2021Publication date: January 19, 2023Inventors: Jay K. FORDING, John Alton HERMANN, Michael H. WEBB, Robert H. Patent number: 11379529Abstract: Technology is disclosed for proactively enriching content of electronic communications through predicting user intents. User-composed content within an electronic communication is observed and used to predict one or more intents each associated with a task related to the communication and to be completed in creating the communication. Task-queries may be generated based on the detected intents and entities extracted from the user-composed content, contextual information, or other information related to the user, such as a user-knowledge database. User selection of a suggested task-query automatically executes the task-query, and the results are provided to the user. Each result may include an action involving adding content to or supplementing the content of the electronic communication. A conversational digital assistant may further be invoked to interact with the user to confirm and/or modify suggested task-queries and results of selected task-queries.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2019Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Robert Ross Fenton, John Alton Price, Carol Kumar Mekala, Richard Scott Cassan, Hany Salaheldeen Khalil, Subramanian Vuttravadium Venkata, Malik M. Patent number: 10071009Abstract: An examination table including an integrated scale with automatic taring, weight capture in the presence of patient motion, and automatic table height adjustment. The examination table includes a controller that periodically tares the integrated scale when a patient is not on the table so that the scale is ready to measure the weight of a patient without manual taring by the table operator. When a patient is on the table, the controller detects the presence of patient motion based on signals from load sensors, and captures weights for patients experiencing uncontrolled motion or tremors by averaging and comparing sampled weight values over predetermined periods of time. To insure that the patient is fully supported by the examination table before weighing the patient, the controller automatically adjusts the height of the examination table support surface so that the patient's feet are not touching the floor prior to weighing the patient.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2015Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Inventors: Robert Menke, Douglas Oda, John Alton

Publication number: 20120306667Abstract: A digital audio warning system (DAWS) that can monitor all relative aircraft systems and provide audio for any warning that requires immediate action. Current aircraft systems only monitor their individual system. The DAWS can monitor all relative aircraft systems. The DAWS may not replace the conventional warning signals, but can be a second level of warning to the flight crew. These warnings are relative to “red flag” type warnings and are not meant to replace warnings such as traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) or enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) warnings.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2011Publication date: December 6, 2012Inventors: JONATHAN ERLIN MORITZ, John Alton Moritz

Patent number: 8249714Abstract: A device and methods for performing a closed-chain exercise for the lower extremities of a human subject and, in particular, the legs, using stimulation. The device may include a sled for receiving the subject and for translating to and fro between a first, lower position in which the legs are at least partially bent and a second, higher position in which the legs are less bent than in the first position. A stimulator is provided for facilitating the performance of the closed-chain leg exercise by the subject to move the sled between the first and second positions, either by way of electrical signals provided directly to the applicable muscles or by way of sensory (e.g., visual) stimulation, with or without electro-muscular stimulation. In another aspect, adaptive feed-forward control may also be used to enhance the exercise regimen performed using the device.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2006Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Customkynetics, Inc.Inventors: Eric Hartman, James Abbas, JoAnne Resig, John Alton, Mark Griffin, Nancy Quick

Patent number: 7029452Abstract: A hydrotherapy system has a rigid tank filled with a liquid. At least one acoustic wave is impinged on the tank's exterior walls where it is coupled to the liquid for transmission therethrough. The acoustic wave interacts in the liquid with at least one of (i) a reflection of the acoustic wave from one of the tank's interior walls, and (ii) at least one other acoustic wave that was generated and impinged on another of the tank's exterior walls.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2003Date of Patent: April 18, 2006Inventor: Noyal John Alton, Jr.

Patent number: 6537566Abstract: The proliferation of uterine fibroid leiomyoma cells is inhibited by certain Fibroid Cell Growth Inhibitor (FGI) agents. The pharmacological doses of these FGI agents in the milieu of uterine fibroid cells can be made high enough to not only inhibit proliferation, but to also causes cell death. Non-invasive or minimally invasive, non-systemic delivery methods are used to deliver the FGI agent to the milieu of the target fibroid leiomyoma cell population, thereby avoiding the disadvantages and side effects of surgical and systemic hormonal therapy interventions in the treatment of uterine fibroids. The FGI agents are substrates that are normally present or are well tolerated in the human body. The efficacy of the FGI agents appears to be related to their ability to moderate the Protein Kinase C and Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase pathways. Specific FGI agents shown to be useful to inhibit growth or proliferation of uterine fibroid cells include: &agr;-tocopherol, &agr;-tocopherol succinate, and troglitazone.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Inventors: John Alton Copland, Steven L. Patent number: 6013179Abstract: A filter assembly is disclosed which includes a downwardly sloping skirt portion, a gasket, filter media, and a supply suction tube. The gasket is integral with a top section of the skirt portion. The filter media, which may be pleated for increased filtering capabilities, is positioned at the bottom of the skirt portion such that unfiltered fluid will be gravity biased to pass through the filter media. The suction tube is integral with the skirt and has a first end and a second end. The first end is adapted to be connected to a pump, while the second end extends through the skirt such that the filtered fluid can be drawn through the suction tube when the pump is activated.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1997Date of Patent: January 11, 2000Assignee: Dana CorporationInventors: John Alton Laughlin, Joseph Stephen Williamson, Brian Thomas Lee
