  • Patent number: 8707491
Abstract: A multi-functional gardening implement that, in some embodiments, functions as a pair of shears, a spade, a garden cultivator, a saw, a machete, a weeder and a rake. The implement comprises two shears that cooperate to cut vegetation placed between them when a user presses the handles of the shears together. The implement also has at least one appendage, which may be a shovel, a hoe, a garden cultivator, or another garden tool that is attached to the central portions of the shears and can be rotated to an operating position where the appendage is supported by the blades of the shears. The implement may have a second appendage that rotates in the opposite direction to a similar operating position against the other sides of the blades. In some embodiments, the cutting portions of the shears may be configured to define a spade blade in the closed position.
