  • Patent number: 6145997
Abstract: A flashlight having a battery suspension system is provided and includes a flashlight body having a substantially hollow portion into which at least one battery may be loaded; an end cap removably mountable to one longitudinal end of the flashlight body; a head assembly removably mountable to another longitudinal end of the flashlight body opposite the one longitudinal end; a first spring disposed adjacent the end cap and extending in an axial direction of the flashlight body; a second spring disposed adjacent the head assembly and extending in the axial direction of the flashlight body; and a plate member disposed with one surface in contact with the second spring, and another surface facing toward the first spring.

  • Patent number: 6048084
Abstract: A reflector of a lighting apparatus such as a flashlight has a cupped body with a first pair of opposing walls and a second pair of opposing walls extending from an aperture at the cupped body center to a rectangular opening. The internal surfaces of the walls are reflective. Each of the first pair of walls is concavely curved with a focus point in front of a filament light source inside the cupped body and each of the second pair of walls is convexly curved with a focus point exterior to the cupped body. The first pair of opposing walls and the second pair of opposing walls are shaped to reflect light from the filament light source through the rectangular opening to form a predetermined flood beam by breaking up the filament image and reflecting the resulting light.

  • Patent number: 5816060
Abstract: An air flow control arrangement for a side-by-side refrigerator which results in temperature variations, both spatial and temporal, of approximately about .+-.1.degree. F. in the fresh food compartment, is described. Such air flow control also is believed to even further reduce the internal "sweat" in the fresh food compartment. In one embodiment, and with respect to a side-by-side refrigerator, the middle duct in the center mullion wall is closed off, and a duct is added in the center mullion wall, or could be installed as a separate duct outside the mullion, connecting a supply port in the top, back, left hand corner in fresh food compartment to a position in the evaporator chamber. The added duct also seals off direct airflow between the evaporator chamber and the fresh food compartment.
