A removable battery module supplies power to the electronic candle and is removable from the interior cavity of the candle body. The electronic candle can have a base cap module for closing the interior cavity of the candle body and a speaker for generating sound. The speaker can be positioned between the battery module and the base cap module, and directed to project sound downward. Apertures in the battery module and/or the base cap module allow sound from the speaker to pass through the aperture or apertures into the interior cavity of the candle body. Accordingly, the candle body can resonate and/or amplify sound generated by the speaker.
