Abstract: Various example embodiments described herein relates, to an item manipulation system that can include a control system and an end effector. The end effector can include a tube defining a channel between a first end and a second end. The tube can include, a flexible suction cup that can be disposed within the channel of the tube. In some examples, the flexible suction cup can engage a surface of the item based on suction force generated through the flexible suction cup. The end effector also includes a linear actuator that can be mechanically coupled to the flexible suction cup. The end effector can be configured to: extend, the flexible suction cup towards the second end of the channel to position at least a portion of the flexible suction cup outside the tube and retract, the flexible suction cup within the channel to position the flexible suction cup within the tube.

Abstract: An article of commerce comprising an edible substrate having an image which provides value beyond the aesthetic value of the image. In one aspect, the present invention provides an article of commerce comprising: (a) an edible substrate; (b) a first image disposed upon said edible substrate, wherein said first image comprises a first game element; (c) a second image disposed upon said edible substrate, wherein said second image comprises a second game element; and (d) optionally a container for containing said edible substrate. The first game element and the second game element provide elements of a game. In a preferred embodiment, the edible substrate comprises a fabricated snack chip.

Abstract: An article of commerce comprising an edible substrate having an image disposed thereon. The article further has a message associated with the image, wherein the message links the image to an interactive component. Optionally the article comprises a container which contains the edible substrate.

Abstract: A rain gauge comprising a counter and a pivoted bi-stable receiver having two compartments and which is adapted to pivot between first and second limit positions. A collector operates to collect the rainwater and directs it into one or the other of the compartments depending upon where the receiver is positioned. When the operative receiver compartment accumulates a predetermined amount of water, for example water representative of one-tenth of an inch of rainfall, it pivots to the other limit position, placing the other compartment in the operative position, dumping the contents of the first compartment and actuating a counter which registers the increment of rainfall. The actuation of the counter is accomplished by applying an electrical pulse to the counter, the pulse being generated by the pivotal movement of the receiver.
