  • Publication number: 20210097539
Abstract: A system is described herein for managing digital transactions over a network with incomplete information. The system includes a data collection component and a transaction control component that may employ a prospective control model that is trained with fully matured data as well as partially matured data regarding past digital transactions. The transaction control component is configured to estimate an inauthentic rate of inauthentic digital transactions being wrongly approved for a current time period. A set of future reference values may be determined based on the estimated inauthentic rate. The set of future reference values relate to a predicted future decision made for the digital transaction. A set of current values may be determined based on the set of future reference values. Based on the set of current values, the transaction control component may determine whether the digital transaction should be rejected as inauthentic or approved as authentic.

  • Publication number: 20120303464
Abstract: Systems and method can be provided for selecting advertising payloads for display in an available advertising impression location. The advertising payloads can be selected based on an auction between various types of hosted and third party campaigns, including hosted reserved advertising campaigns and hosted non-reserved advertising campaigns. The rules of the auction can be set and/or updated over time to allow hosted campaigns to meet desired goals, such as delivering a minimum number of impressions or spending an expect budget amount.

  • Patent number: 7900536
Abstract: A wiskar for sharpening cutting teeth of a chain provided on a chain bar of a chain saw. A housing is removably attached to the chain bar and includes a recess to receive the wiskar therein. The wiskar includes a first member configured to be operationally engaged by the recess of the housing; and a second member configured to frictionally engage a bottom surface of the cutting teeth. The second member includes a body portion intermediate the opposing ends, wherein opposing ends of the second member each have at least one lobe defined therein. Abrasives are uniformly impregnated throughout the first and second member to sharpen the bottom surface of the cutting teeth. • Patent number: 7435326
Abstract: A pipe coupling for joining two electrolyte-conveying pipes of electrochemically dissimilar metals and inhibiting galvanic corrosion resulting from the dissimilarity. A tubular pipe coupling has a pair of axially spaced protection electrodes mounted to its interior wall in electrical contact with the electrolyte. A control electrode is also mounted to the interior wall of the tubular pipe coupling between one of the pipes and the pair of protection electrodes. A current sensing circuit is connected to sense the galvanic current through the control electrode. A controllably variable source of electrical current is connected to vary the current through the protection electrodes. A negative feedback control circuit receives the sensed current as a feedback signal and controls the variable source to increase the electrical current through the protection electrodes and the electrolyte so that the sensed current is reduced thereby reducing the galvanic current in the electrolyte between the pipes.

  • Publication number: 20080028062
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining measures of traffic accessing a network location are provided. Users may request traffic measures relevant to a target criteria. The target criteria may be parsed into intermediate target criteria. A server may be queried to determine if traffic measures relevant to the target criteria and/or any of the intermediate target criteria are stored in association therewith. If so, such traffic measures may be received. If not, such traffic measures may be determined. In embodiments, at least one traffic measure associated with an intermediate target criteria is utilized to determine the requested traffic measure.

  • Patent number: 5739424
Abstract: The device is an electrically insulating tube which is rigidly mounted between the ends of two dissimilar metal pipes. Longitudinally spaced, annular electrodes are mounted in grooves formed in the cylindrical interior wall. The electrodes are electrically connected to the fluid within the chamber. The chamber is defined by the interior walls of the pipes and the tube. A current source is electrically connected to the electrodes, for generating a current between the electrodes, creating an ohmic potential drop in the fluid that minimizes the potential shift of the pipes from that naturally existing in the absence of the dissimilar metal couple. Sensors sense the naturally existing potential of the pipes for varying the current between the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5571955
Abstract: A corrosion monitoring apparatus and method for determining the corrosive effects of a chemical environment, having an environmental pressure, on a vessel containing the chemical environment. A probe is exposed to the environment and is made of a material substantially similar to that of which the vessel is made. The probe has a sealed internal chamber which contains a pressurized fluid which is monitored. A pressure transducer is in communication with the sealed internal chamber of the first probe for translating any pressure change within the chamber into a (preferably electrical) signal which is indicated by an electrical meter or similar device. Stress corrosion cracking of the probe causes fluid leakage and, therefore, a pressure change.

  • Patent number: 4628541
Abstract: A battery powered keyboard entry device includes an infra-red generator for coupling the device to a microcomputer which includes an infra-red receiver. Each input binary signal is transmitted as a few (e.g. two or three) short infra-red pulses indicating the leading edge of the binary signal. In the receiver, the received groups of pulses, after detection and amplification, are stretched by a single-shot circuit to produce binary signals of substantially the same length as the original binary signals. As each transmission is substantially shorter than each binary signal, power consumption in the keyboard entry device is substantially reduced as compared with a system in which the infra-red pulses for each input signal extend over the input signal length.

  • Patent number: 4508583
Abstract: A method of reclaiming laminations from electric motors enables reclamation with epoxy filled stators. The stator is removed from the housing and placed on a support in clamps. One clamp is moved with respect to the other to separate a section of the stator from the remaining portions of the stator. This also pulls windings from the separated section. The stator is then reclamped and another section is pulled from the stator. When broken into individual sections free of windings, the epoxy filler can be loosened either chemically, or by heat, or by heat and quenching.

  • Patent number: 4421999
Abstract: A seal section for a submersible pump assembly has multiple seal chambers, each with an independent bellows. The seal section is located between the motor and the pump, and receives a shaft driven by the motor. At least one partition is located in the seal section, with the shaft sealingly passing through the partition. The partition divides the motor and seal sections into a primary chamber and at least one secondary chamber. A primary bellows is located in the primary chamber. The bellows is in contact with well fluid on one side and lubricant of the pump assembly on the other side for equalizing pressure. A secondary bellows is located in the seal section with one side in contact with the lubricant in the primary chamber and the other side in contact with the lubricant in the secondary chamber. The secondary bellows equalizes the pressures between the two chambers.
