Patent number: 8315115Abstract: A method for testing a primary memory of control and regulation electronics of a frequency converter is described. The primary memory includes (i) at least one matrix of memory cells, (ii) means for addressing the at least one memory cell matrix, and (iii) a write/read circuit The method includes examining at least a part of the means for addressing with regard to address errors and examining at least a part of the memory cells with regard to cell errors. The examining steps are performed independently of one another. The examining at least a part of the means for addressing includes examining individual address bits of an n-bit wide address bus in steps that are performed independently of one another. The examining is dependent on use of the primary memory for operation of the frequency converter.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2008Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Grundfos Management a/sInventors: John Bomholt, Flemming Hedegaard, Jorn Skjellerup Rasmussen, Neils Jorgen Strom

Publication number: 20100246301Abstract: A method for testing a working memory which includes a matrix of memory cells, an address bus/address coder and a write circuit/read circuit, consists of two method parts with which in one step, at least a part of the address bus/address coder is tested with regard to address faults and in another step at least a part of the memory cells are tested with regard to cell faults. The testing steps are temporally independent of one another and may thus be effected also during the operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2008Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: GRUNDFOS MANAGEMENT A/SInventors: John Bomholt, Flemming Hedegaard, Jorn Skjellerup Rasmussen, Neils Jorgen Strom

Publication number: 20040176874Abstract: Batching of currently supplied articles with non-uniform weights into portions of a uniform target weight is effected by passing the articles through a weighing station (6, 8) to a distribution system (12), in which the articles (4) are selectively allocated to a plurality of receiver bins (14). Probability calculations based on a regularly updated record of the weight distribution of a relatively high number of newly weighed articles and the probability of each new incoming article complete a portion of target weight are used to determine which of a plurality of bins the article should be diverted into from a stream of incoming articles. The process can be used for production of mixed jobs on multiple lines, e.g., portions with one type of parts being formed from the stream articles in one line of batching bins and portions of a different type of parts, or portions with differing numbers of parts, or of different weights being formed from the stream articles in a parallel line of batching bins.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2003Publication date: September 9, 2004Applicant: Scanvaegt A/SInventors: Thorkild Kvisgaard, John Bomholt

Patent number: 6712221Abstract: A batching of currently supplied articles with non-uniform weights into portions of a uniform target weight is effected by passing the articles through a weighing station (6, 8) to a distribution system (12), in which the articles (4) are selectively allocated to a plurality of receiver bins (14). It is known to improve the capacity of such a system by way of probability calculations based on the normal distribution of the articles in the supply flow, but according to the invention it is still better to base such calculations on a regularly updated recorded histogram (28) of the weight distribution of a relatively high number of newly weighed articles. Thereby the target calculations will rely on factual rather than just expected conditions, and a very important result is that it is possible to effect relevant batching even when the article weights in the supply flow are not normally distributed.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1999Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Scanvaegt A/SInventors: Thorkild Kvisgaard, John Bomholt

Patent number: 5178227Abstract: For obtaining accurate product weighing results in ships it is not sufficient to effect a correction of the weighing results by an accelerometer, which will only roughly compensate for the weighing errors due to the general movements in the sea. Thus correction are also effected for errors from other marked sources of error, so that it is possible to stake on a large-scale rearrangement of the fish industry from land-based to ship-based plants. Thus, corrections are made for errors due to tiltings of the ship and due to the mechanical noise produced by the engine of the ship or by operative implements on the ship. A calibration of the weighing system is carried out regularly by a calibration system which is effective even during movements in the sea.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1991Date of Patent: January 12, 1993Assignee: Scanvagt A/SInventors: Thorkild Kvisgaard, John Bomholt
