  • Publication number: 20120275021
Abstract: Depth-enhancing screens for producing a simulated 3D image. According to one aspect, the depth-enhancing screen comprises a Fresnel lens and the screen is adapted to be arranged adjacent an image source such that the Fresnel lens is arranged between the image source and a viewer and the optical centre of the Fresnel lens is offset from the geometric center of the screen. The screen may be formed from multiple overlaying Fresnel lens, which may different optical centers. The Fresnel lenses may be flat or curved along their height and/or width to form an apex in the central region.

  • Patent number: 7990613
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a depth-enhancing screen for producing a simulated 3D image. The screen comprises a multi-curved Fresnel lens which when viewed in cross-section along the or each longest line linking two points on the edge of the lens, has a curved cross-section with an apex in the central region of the lens, and wherein each end of the curve flattens before it reaches the edge of the lens.

  • Patent number: 7369062
Abstract: An aircraft emergency lighting system includes a plurality of light units arranged to guide passengers to and to identify exits in an emergency. The light units communicate wirelessly with a remote master control unit operable from the cockpit using a low power spread spectrum signal centered on a single frequency to avoid interference with onboard aircraft control and communication systems. The light units are arranged to receive and transmit any signal to and from the master controller whereby only some of the light units need be within range of the master controller. The light units include battery operated LEDs and cycle between an inoperable (sleep) condition and an operable (awake) condition to conserve power consumption and extend battery life.

  • Publication number: 20070297073
Abstract: System for producing a simulated 3D image from a 2D image having a fresnel lens with two planes of curvature transverse to each other so as to create a substantially convex. The fresnel lens may be flexible and positioned within a mount configured with adjustable tensioning members so as to tune the optical characteristics of the fresnel lens so as to optimise production of the simulated 3D image.

  • Patent number: 6362367
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for producing one or more organic acids in high purity which process comprises (i) oxidizing in a liquid oxidation reactor one or more organic liquids with essentially pure oxygen or oxygen-enriched air containing at least about 50% oxygen, at a temperature sufficiently stable to prevent cycling of reaction rate, to produce a crude reaction product fluid, and (ii) refining said crude reaction product fluid to give said one or more organic acids in high purity. The oxidation temperature is preferably controlled to within about ±3° C. of a target temperature. The organic acids described herein is useful in a variety of applications, such as intermediates in the manufacture of chemical compounds, pharmaceutical manufacture and the like.
