  • Publication number: 20170347630
Abstract: A retractable pet leash assembly includes a housing, a spool, a leash and a braking assembly. The spool is disposed inside the housing and biased by a spring and includes braking notches. The leash is wound about the spool. The braking assembly includes a pawl, a pawl spring and an operating member. The pawl selectively engages the braking notches, the pawl spring biases the pawl towards engagement with the spool. The operating member moves the pawl between first and second positions to move the pawl into and out of the path of the braking notches. The operating member has a pawl non-engaged position in which the pawl is in the first position, a first pawl engaged position in which the pawl is in the second position, and a second pawl engaged position in which the operating member is retained while the pawl is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20170290301
Abstract: A retractable leash system includes a housing, a leash, a spool, and a brake. The spool is attached to the leash and disposed within the housing. The leash is configured to be rotationally biased so as to urge the leash into a spooled configuration. The brake includes an operating button, a compression spring, and a brake member coupled to the operating button. The brake member is associated with the compression spring and is configured to engage the spool by operation of the operating button, such that, when the brake is engaged, the spool is prevented from rotating in an unspooling direction and capable of rotating in a spooling direction.

  • Patent number: 9723816
Abstract: A two or more subject retractable leash, and methods of use thereof, is disclosed, which includes a roll-back feature on each retractable leash. The leashes may be locked in place by engaging a single lever. The leashes retract regardless of whether the spools are locked or unlocked. Each leash retracts independently of the other leashes, such that a dual leash may be used to walk one subject. In some embodiments, a single subject retractable leash includes a roll-back feature that provides and allows for leash retraction, whether or not a brake associated with a spool thereof is engaged.

  • Publication number: 20150005684
Abstract: A medical bandaging product that includes a flexible medical material including an elongate fabric, a reactive system, and microspheres. In certain aspects, a component of the reactive system is homogeneously impregnated into or coated throughout the flexible medical material without being encapsulated in the microspheres such that the reactive system remains stable and non-activated in the absence of an activating agent, and hardens upon activation by exposure to the activating agent to form a rigid, self-supporting structure. In this aspect, the microspheres are homogeneously impregnated into or coated throughout the flexible medical material, the microspheres encapsulate an activating agent and are configured to release the activating agent to form the rigid, self-supporting structure.
