  • Patent number: 4928741
Abstract: A rubber tire having a vinylidene chloride copolymer/elastomer polymer blend inner liner is disclosed. This coating may be about 1 to 3 mils thick. The polymer blend has low air permeability, high elongation, low modulus and excellent flex resistance. The polymer blend may be prepared by combining an aqueous vinylidene chloride copolymer emulsion adjusted to pH of about 6.5 to about 8, with an elastomer latex, and applying the resulting mixed emulsion by conventional techniques to the inner surface of the carcas of inner liner of a green tire.
