  • Publication number: 20240125272
Abstract: A component for a gas turbine engine, including: at least one internal cavity extending through the component, the internal cavity having at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening each being in fluid communication with the at least one internal cavity; a plurality of cooling features extending from a surface of the at least one internal cavity, the plurality of cooling features are formed in accordance with at least one of the following groups: i) a plurality of airfoil shaped features that extend upwardly from the surface of the at least one internal cavity and a plurality of wedge shaped features each having a triangular base that has an upstream portion and a downstream portion, the upstream portion extending further from the surface than the downstream portion; ii) a plurality features having a curved or ā€œJā€ shaped base that extends upwardly from the surface, a plurality features having a double curved or symmetrically ā€œJā€ shaped base that extends upwardly from the surface, and a pluralit

  • Publication number: 20040169725
Abstract: A device to test reflective concave surfaces, such as telescope mirrors, and refractive convex surfaces for astigmatism, by providing a dot with which to examine an image of a point source which is formed by such surfaces. The dot is preferably held in the light path with a thin piece of optical glass. An additional embodiment has a plurality of dots, also preferably mounted on a piece of glass, with which to examine an optical system. The devices can also be used to test for asphericity of the surface.

  • Patent number: 5533549
Abstract: A valve assembly for use in heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. The valve assembly includes a valve body having a chamber in which is rotatably mounted a quarter-turn flow control ball valve. A valve body nut having an outlet port is threadably mounted on the valve body adjacent the outlet end of the valve body chamber. A flow venturi is removably mounted in the inlet end of the valve body. A pipe union tailpiece is detachably mounted on the inlet end of the valve body. A pair of pressure/temperature readout ports are mounted on the valve body for use in determining the rate of fluid flow through the venturi. A vent plug is mounted on the valve body for venting air from the ball valve chamber.

  • Patent number: 5467796
Abstract: A ball valve having a valve body defining a ball valve chamber and having a longitudinal axis defined by inlet and outlet passages. A ball valve element is rotatably disposed in said valve chamber. The ball valve element has a diametrically disposed fluid passage and is operatively connected to a control lever for rotating the ball valve element between a closed position and an open position. A basket strainer is removably mounted in the ball element passage in the ball valve element. The ball valve is provided with an internal pilot fluid flush passage that connects an inlet port to the ball valve chamber, and a pilot fluid flush discharge port and discharge valve that communicate with the ball valve chamber. A flow control plug valve is movably mounted in the internal pilot fluid flush passage for selective allowing or preventing fluid flow therethrough.
