Abstract: A method and apparatus for previewing resulting screens of UI scripts of client-server information systems and providing screen-to-source association of those UI scripts. The process includes translating UI scripts into UI instructions to be displayed in the clients without executing the scripts in a server or modifying the clients, prompting a user to provide inputs for configuration items so that UI components with conditional logic can be properly previewed and inserting extra logic and data into the generated UI instructions so that when a user selects a location on a screen the corresponding section of a UI scripts will be displayed and highlighted.
