Detents are provided to hold the securing portion in the extended position until pressure is exerted on the securing portion to overcome the detents and transition the securing portion from the extended position to the retracted position.

Abstract: A retractable navigation light mounts through a surface of an aquatic vehicle such as a boat. The navigation light, in the retracted position, is substantially flush with the surface to which it is mounted, thereby reducing clutter and tripping issues. The illuminated portion of the retractable navigation light, in the extended position, is elevated sufficiently as to position the light(s) above any obstruction such as a trolling motor. The illuminated portion locks in the extended position so as to not retract as the boat pounds against waves and unlocks with the push of a button when it is desired to retract the navigation lights. In some embodiments, the extension shaft on which the illuminated portion is mounted is sufficiently sturdy as to provide a safety handle should one slip on the deck of the boat.

The flush-mounted body member has facilities for mounting on an associated boat surface, requiring only screw-diameter holes drilled in the boat surface. The foldable hook member lies flat when not in use, and upright when extended for holding a pole. A detent mechanism keeps the foldable hook member in either the extended or retracted position until it is changed by a force exerted on the foldable hook member.

Abstract: The marine grab bar of the present invention is intended for use on a boat wherein a passenger needs a gripping post when standing. The grab bar assembly includes a base mounted to a wall or upright surface in the boat, and a telescoping bar moveable between a lower retracted storage position and a raised extended gripping position. A lock is provided in the assembly for retaining the bar in the raised position relative to the base.

Abstract: A folding boat cleat which is secured to a boat hull includes a base secured to the boat hull, the base including a gap and a cleat head rotatably secured at one end to the base. A spring is secured between the cleat head and the base and operates to bias the cleat head toward an upward or operative position. A slider is secured within the base and includes a latch portion which engages the cleat head when the cleat head is in a folded position within the gap and a thumb portion which allows a user to retract the latch portion and release the cleat head to rotate approximately 90° into an upward or operative position. Preferably, the slider is spring loaded. A torsion coil spring is also preferably used to bias the cleat head towards an upward or operative position. The cleat head preferably includes a plurality of legs.

The light includes a base plate mounted within a hole in the deck, and a light insert pivotably mounted in the base plate for movement between the open and closed positions. The housing has a central counter bore at the top thereof, and a smaller bore extending therefrom and said inner member is received in the housing for relative axial movement between a depressed inoperative position and an upper operative position. A set screw carried by the housing engages a slot in the inner member for limiting relative axial movement therebetween, while a spring loaded poppet carried by the housing is engageable with a detent near the bottom of the inner member to resiliently hold the inner member vertically stationary relative to the housing when in its upper position.

Abstract: A hinge having a housing with a flush mountable flange. A hinge member having pivotally connected upper and lower portions with the lower portion pivotally connected within the housing. A portion of the lower portion is engageable with a slot in the housing for locking the lower portion in an upright position. Upon unlocking the lower portion from the housing the hinge member can be pivoted into a flush relationship with the housing.

Abstract: A cleat assembly including a housing and a securing members mounted therein for movement between operative and inoperative positions and a spring loaded poppit carried by the securing members and registerable with detents carried by the housing. The detents having openings therein confluent with the surface of the housing.

Abstract: A bird feeder having an inner feed containing tube with a removable top, fixed bottom and feed access openings therein, an outer tube shrouding the inner tube and having feed access openings therein and an upper and lower position. In the upper position the feed access openings in the inner and outer tubes are aligned and when the outer tube moves downwardly relative to the outer tube the access openings are closed. A lever is pivotally connected to the fixed bottom and operatively connected to the outer tube. A biasing element urges the lever to pivot in a direction to move the outer member to its upper position.

Abstract: A waterproof hatch latch with a lifting ring for mounting in a hatch cover with the lift ring connected to a cam member disposed in the latch housing. The cam member carries a locking bar on its inner end which is engagable with the adjourning deck to lock the hatch. A waterproof lock tumbler is mounted in the latch housing and a slide plate connects the tumbler to the cam member to lock the lock bar in its position engaging the deck and to lock it in position one hundred eighty degrees removed from engagement. A spring is disposed in the mounting between the cam member and the housing to prevent damage to the lift ring.
