  • Patent number: 10786181
Abstract: A device and method for measuring the angle and range of motion of a body joint used in the course of medical treatment. Index marks are placed on the limbs of the patient that correspond to registration indicators on the arms of the device. This allows consistent application of the device in measurement sessions over time to ensure consistent measurements of the joint. A fixed display and a wireless broadcast of the angle are for reading the angles of the joint.

  • Patent number: 9022221
Abstract: A gold dry washer comprised of a stand assembly and a trough assembly. The trough assembly is angled from an upper end with a hopper for raw soil to a lower end where denser gold is collected. Along the declining path of the trough are a series of graduating apertures that successively isolate the denser materials in the soil and allow waste to fall overboard. The stand assembly includes a motor or other gentle agitation means to encourage the dry soil to move with the aid of gravity towards the lower end of the trough where the heavier gold may be collected.

  • Patent number: 4871307
Abstract: A system and method for igniting and monitoring a pilot flame for a burning of waste gas, such as the waste gas of an oil refinery or drilling rig, includes a current which is pulsed periodically with pulses of approximately one-second duration of electric power resulting in the outputting of an igniter electrode assembly of typically 6000 volts AC at 20 milliamperes at an alternating current frequency of typically 60 Hz. During the presence of a pilot flame, ionization of gas takes place resulting in a rectification of ignition current. The transformer has a monitoring winding outputting a signal from which a 60 Hz component is filtered out, the remaining signal having a sequence of pulses which varies between positive and negative intervals of the alternating current excitation. Comparison of the pulses provides for an indication of flame absence in the presence of equality of the pulses, and flame presence in the presence of an ineqality of the pulses.

  • Patent number: 4664178
Abstract: A one-piece removable tube lane block includes an L-shaped angle bar, having one end thereof fixed to the closed end of a cylindrical sleeve and extending axially outwardly therefrom. The outer end of the sleeve has a radially outwardly extending annular retaining flange for engagement with the vessel wall at the outer end of the handhole. The blocking portion is dimensioned to be insertable through the handhole and into the tube lane to a use position with the distal leg of the L-shaped bar disposed perpendicular to the tube sheet and with the mounting sleeve disposed in the handhole and held in place therein by set screws extending radially outwardly through the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4629481
Abstract: A modular separating unit for separating a liquid from a gas-liquid mixture, comprising an annular riser tube, a hub coaxial with and located within the riser tube, four curved blades mounted between the hub and the riser tube, an annular downcomer tube surrounding the riser tube, and an orifice ring having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the riser tube and located adjacent the outlet end of the riser tube. The leading edge and leading surface of each blade, which are disposed adjacent the inlet end of the riser tube, are contained in a plane parallel to the initial direction of flow of the gas-liquid mixture. The trailing edge and trailing surface of each blade are contained in a plane which is at an angle of approximately 37.degree. to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the hub. The projections of the leading edge of one blade and the trailing edge of an adjacent blade onto a plane perpendicular to the axis of the hub form an angle of approximately 22.5.degree..
