  • Patent number: 5284739
Abstract: Photographic materials having incorporated sulphonyhdrazide color developing agents. Such photographic materials have at least two color-forming units, each of which has a silver halide emulsion layer and a photographic coupler. A ballasted heterocyclic sulphonhydrazide color developing agent is present in the material in droplets of a high boiling point solvent. A method of forming a photographic color image using such materials is also provided.

Date of Patent: February 8, 1994
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: David Clarke, John D. Goddard, Paul L. R. Stanley, Nigel E. Milner
  • Patent number: 4980275
Abstract: A photographic silver halide material comprises an organophosphorus dye stabilizer represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein A represents the atoms necessary to complete a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring;R.sub.1 represents substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or a heterocyclic group;Y is an oxygen or a sulfur atom; and,n is 0 or 1.Such a photographic silver halide material enables improved stability of dye images in the material.

  • Patent number: 4824771
Abstract: Novel photographic acetanilide dye-forming couplers comprise a group comprising a stabilizer moiety represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 is halogen or alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sup.3 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy; R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are individually alkyl; ##STR2## R.sup.8 and R.sup.9 are individually hydrogen or alkyl; R.sup.10 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl; and X is a linking group. Such couplers provide advantageous stability in dyes formed from the couplers. These couplers are useful in photographic silver halide materials and processes.

  • Patent number: 4782011
Abstract: A photographic element comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a dye-forming coupler and a dye stabilizer comprising a bisphenol derivative having two linked phenol rings, one of the phenolic hydroxy groups being substituted and at least one of the phenol rings being substituted. In a preferred embodiment, the bisphenol derivative has the following formula: ##STR1## wherein A is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, acyl, alkylsulfonyl or arylsulfonyl group;X is a single bond or a linking group selected from alkylidene, a heteroatom or sulfonyl; and, each R independently represents one or more substituents, each substituent independently being a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group; or each R in combination with the benzene ring to which it is attached independently represents the atoms necessary to complete a fused ring system.
