  • Patent number: 11974412
Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for managing a processing load of a processing module and thermal energy produced by the processing load. In one example, a method includes identifying a hot water profile that contains usage information of hot water from a hot water tank that serves as a heat sink for the thermal energy. A determination may be made as to whether it is economically desirable to increase or decrease the processing load based on factors such as an economic value generated by the processing load, a cost of energy needed to support the processing load, and an economic value of the thermal energy transferred to the hot water tank based on the hot water profile. The processing load may be dynamically modulated by a local or remote controller in response to the economic desirability of increasing or decreasing the processing load as well as other possible parameters.

  • Patent number: 5429325
Abstract: A lightweight hard nose assembly for mooring a lighter than air vehicle to a mooring mast wherein the hard nose assembly includes a cone assembly which further includes a base ring attached to the lighter than air vehicle, a top plate, including a docking probe, and a plurality of struts connecting the base ring to the cone assembly. The hard nose assembly further include a plurality of guy lines, originating from the top plate and attached to the lighter than air vehicle at a plurality of patches. This lightweight nose cone assembly for lighter than air vehicles results in substantial savings in weight and cost and is more efficient than existing hard nose structures with battens.

  • Patent number: 5303765
Abstract: A roll caster comprising a pair of rotatable rolls (1, 2), and mounting means (4, 5) for moving one of the rolls towards and away from the other, so as to adjust the gap between the rolls. A nozzle assembly (9) for directing molten metal into the gap between the rolls, is mounted with its outlet end projecting into the gap, with a suitable clearance. The nozzle assembly is mounted on a carrier (13) which is moved in accordance with the movement of the rolls, by means of a mounting comprising movable links (16, 17) so as to maintain the required clearance between the nozzle and the rolls.
