  • Patent number: 9163872
Abstract: A method (80) of operating a refrigeration system (48) for a refrigerated mobile cargo container (2) includes sensing a temperature outside of the refrigerated mobile cargo container (2), detecting a position of a door (16, 18) on the refrigerated mobile cargo container (2), and deactivating the refrigeration system (48) if the door (16, 18) is open and the temperature outside of the refrigerated mobile cargo container (2) is less than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 9116530
Abstract: A security monitor system for a transport unit is provided. The security monitor system may include at least one security sensor configured to detect a fault condition, and a controller having a plurality of inputs, a plurality of outputs, and a low power control circuit. The low power control circuit may provide electrical communication between a battery of the transport unit, the security sensor, and at least one of the inputs of the controller. The control circuit may be configured to maintain the controller in low power mode when there are no detected fault conditions, and to enable power to the controller when there is a detected fault condition.

  • Publication number: 20140193664
Abstract: Recoating process and recoated turbine blade are disclosed. The recoating process includes providing a coated turbine blade, then removing a portion of the thermal barrier coating system to form a partially-stripped turbine blade, then applying a bond recoat to the stripped region of the partially-stripped turbine blade; and then applying a thermal barrier recoat to the bond recoat to form a recoated turbine blade. The recoated turbine blade comprises the bond coating portion abutting the bond recoat, the thermal barrier coating portion abutting the thermal barrier recoat, and the stepped configuration. The coated turbine blade has a thermal barrier coating system positioned on a substrate. The partially-stripped turbine blade has a stripped region, a bond coating portion, a thermal barrier coating portion, and a stepped configuration.

  • Patent number: 8425194
Abstract: A seal for a dovetail joint in a turbomachine is provided. The seal includes an arcuate member having a first end, a middle portion and a second end. The seal also includes sealing means, which include at least one sealing member. The sealing member can comprise a first sealing member connected to the first end and/or a second sealing member connected to the second end. The dovetail joint is the interface between a bucket dovetail and a rotor dovetail groove, and the seal reduces the amount of cooling flow leakage from the dovetail joint.
