  • Patent number: 10036208
Abstract: A cutter element for rock removal comprises a free standing PCD body (801, 1801) comprising two or more physical volumes (1702, 1703) within the boundary of the PCD body, wherein adjacent physical volumes differ in one or more of diamond and metal network compositional ratio, metal elemental composition and diamond grain size distribution, a functional working volume (803) distal to the PCD body, the functional working volume forming in use a region which comes into contact with the rock. A functional support volume (804) extant in use and having a proximal free surface extends from the functional working volume. • Patent number: 10018011
Abstract: Disclosed is a sealing apparatus for use in establishing a seal around a tubular, and a method of use of the sealing apparatus. The apparatus includes a deployable sealing arrangement which can be engaged with an internal wall of a tubular so as to form a sealed area. The wall of the tubular may then be perforated within the sealed area, and sealant injected through the perforation. Accordingly, the apparatus permits both perforation and sealant injection to occur within a common sealed area, assisting to ensure that the injected sealant will always be appropriately aligned with the established perforation, thus maximizing the injected volume of available sealant. Isolation of the sealed area from fluid inside the tubular also prevents or restricts contamination of the inside of the tubular with sealant or fluids around the tubular, and sealant cannot be washed away by fluid within the tubular.

  • Publication number: 20180141092
Abstract: An electric fan with a self-cleaning mode to energise rotating fan blades in alternate forward and reverse directions to create a vibration in order to shake built-up dust or dirt particles from the blades in a frequency at which the rotational direction is alternated set to a known or detected resonant frequency of the blades thereby excite resonant modes and maximise the amplitude of vibrations. The self-cleaning operation may be triggered by detection of excessive/abnormal loading on the motor. The fan may be operated in a vibration detecting mode over a range of rotational speeds to locate speeds that produce resonance, or to detect a fault with the fan. Motor reversal frequencies corresponding to resonance-inducing speeds may be used in the self-cleaning mode. The vibration detecting mode may be carried out while the at least one blade is rotated in a direction opposite to its normal operational rotational direction.

  • Publication number: 20180127371
Abstract: The present invention provides a compound which is: tert-butyl N-[2-{4-[6-amino-5-(2,4-difluorobenzoyl)-2-oxopyridin-1(2H)-yl]-3,5-difluorophenyl}ethyl)-L-alaninate or a salt, hydrate or solvate thereof. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound together with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or excipients. The compound and composition are useful for inhibiting the activity of a p38 MAP kinase enzyme. As such they may be used in the treatment of a autoimmune or inflammatory disease, or a cell proliferative disease. In addition, the invention provides an acid produced by hydrolysis of the ester group of the compound of the invention. The acid is N-[2-{4-[6-amino-5-(2,4-difluorobenzoyl)-2-oxopyridin-1(2H)-yl]-3,5-difluorophenyl}ethyl)-L-alanine.

  • Publication number: 20180041561
Abstract: Implementations provide a structure for low-latency live-video streams using existing content delivery networks. An example method includes creating, at the start of a broadcast stream, a playlist for the broadcast stream that identifies at least two segment files. The content of each of the segment files is a table header. The method also includes transmitting the playlist and each of the segment files to a cache server, obtaining the video broadcast stream as a series of frames, and transmitting each frame in the series of frames to the cache server using an HTTP chunk transfer protocol, each frame being associated with, and written to, a first segment file identified in the playlist. When a frame in the broadcast stream is a break frame, the method includes transmitting an end of file marker for the first segment file and adding a video header for the break frame before it is transmitted.
