    Abstract: A lidar system includes one or more light sources configured to generate a first beam of light and a second beam of light, a scanner configured to scan the first and second beams of light across a field of regard of the lidar system, and a receiver configured to detect the first beam of light and the second beam of light scattered by one or more remote targets. The scanner includes a rotatable polygon mirror that includes multiple reflective surfaces angularly offset from one another along a periphery of the polygon mirror, the reflective surfaces configured to reflect the first and second beams of light to produce a series of scan lines as the polygon mirror rotates. The scanner also includes a pivotable scan mirror configured to (i) reflect the first and second beams of light and (ii) pivot to distribute the scan lines across the field of regard.

    Abstract: A sidetracking assembly employs a running tool for engaging the whipstock. A cement tube flows low-viscosity fluid through the whipstock to set a hydraulically actuable anchor and to transmit fluid cement further downhole in order to set a cement plug. A latch dog releasably associates the running tool with the whipstock. The latch dog disengages the running tool from the whipstock after the anchor is set. The running tool and cement tube can be raised a designed distance using a first pull tension, indicating that the cement tube is not restrained and that therefore an operation to pump cement to form a cement plug below the assembly may be executed. Following the cementing operation, a greater pull tension can be applied to release the cement tube from the whipstock, permitting complete withdrawal of the reusable running tool and cement tube from the wellbore.

The flow switch is deployed external to the flow bore and includes a flow piston configured to reciprocate between axially opposed open and closed positions such that the device is actuated when the flow piston is in the open position and deactuated when the flow piston is in the closed position. The flow piston is configured to translate from the closed position to the open position when a differential pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold. The flow piston may be further configured to remain in the open position at differential pressures less than the threshold.

Translation logic for generating translated instructions from an object-level instruction stream in a RISC-architected computer processor, and an execution unit which executes the translated instructions, are integrated into the processor. The translation logic combines the functions of a plurality of the object-level instructions into a single translated instruction which can be dispatched to a single execution unit as compared with the untranslated instructions, which would otherwise be serially dispatched to separate execution units. Each external clock signal has a first frequency, a first edge and a second edge. Data is received on one or more signal links at a second frequency that is faster than the first frequency. The data includes consecutive data with a first data signal followed by a second consecutive data signal. The consecutive data is captured at the second frequency in response to the first edges and not the second edges of the external clock signals. The first data signal is captured based on the first edge of the first external clock signal and the second consecutive data signal is captured based on the first edge of the second external clock signal.
