    Abstract: An electronic ballast for fluorescent lights is disclosed which includes a pulse width modulation driven inverter with feedback current controlling the pulse width. Ambient light feedback control is provided. The ballast includes a power factor correction pre-regulator for ensuring a high power factor. A pre-heat delay timer allows lamps cathodes to heat before applying driving voltage across the lamps.
