    Abstract: A combination loading system and hose bed for a firefighting vehicle includes a platform and an actuating mechanism configured to pivot the platform between a substantially vertical stowed position, a substantially horizontal position, and a downwardly angled position. The platform includes a bottom wall and a pair of side walls extending substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall. When in the stowed position, the platform closes the substantially open rear end of the firefighting vehicle, and when in the substantially horizontal position, the platform can serve as a hose bed allowing firefighters to easily grab hose from a standing position. When in the downwardly angled position, the platform can serve as a ramp allowing the firefighters to wheel equipment on and off the vehicle. The platform may also be provided with a crane extension for lifting heavy objects.

    Abstract: Storage assemblies and bucket accessories for material-handling vehicles are provided. One assembly includes a storage compartment consisting of a planar shelf extending along the top edge of the bucket, a back wall extending upwardly from a rear edge of the shelf, and a pair of side walls that extend perpendicularly to opposite ends of the shelf and back wall. A pair of free-standing, elongated orientation rods project upwardly from the top of the back wall of the storage compartment. Tie-down straps at the end of the orientation rods are provided for securing material in both the bucket and the storage compartment. A pair of rack elements for supporting opposite ends of elongated items such as pipes may also be provided. One of the hooks may be secured to one of the orientation rods and the other hook may be secured to the roll bar of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A fire truck operable to automatically refill a water tank comprises a first pressure transducer coupled to an intake inlet of the pump and operable to measure an intake pressure, a second pressure transducer coupled to a discharge outlet of the pump and operable to measure a discharge pressure, a first discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and a fire hose, a second discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and the water tank, a control valve disposed in the second discharge pipe, and a controller operable to automatically sense a low water level condition of the tank, and automatically control the engine speed, the pump speed, and the control valve so that adequate water supply to the fire hose via the first discharge pipe is automatically given priority and maintained while automatically refilling the water tank via the second discharge pipe.

The system further comprises a plurality of remote actuators adapted to receive commands from the central controller and automatically carry out an operation in response to the received command. A wireless communication subsystem is adapted to receive and transmit sensed parameters from the plurality of remote sensors to the central controller, and transmit user input and commands from the central controller to the plurality of remote actuators. A central display screen is adapted to present sensed parameters and warnings.

    Abstract: An attachment system is provided for detachably securing a variety of interchangeable implements to an edge of a bucket of an earth-moving vehicle. The system includes at least one clamp having two generally parallel arms that extend generally perpendicularly from opposite ends of a base member, and that cooperate with one another to define an opening for receiving the bottom front edge of a tractor bucket. An internally threaded bore extending transversely through one of the arms acts as a sleeve carrying an operating member such as a screw or a bolt for maintaining the bucket edge within the opening between the first and second arms. A bore extending through the base member receives a fastener for removably coupling the implement to the clamp.
