    Abstract: Acoustic echo reduction is accomplished in connection with a telephone call utilizing a handsfree telephone unit. An Acoustic Echo Controlling (AEC) device (14) is implemented in a digital exchange (12) of the telecommunication system so that the reduction of acoustic echoes can be achieved from all telephones connected to the digital exchange.
