  • Patent number: 11585089
Abstract: A structural insulation sheathing (SIS) comprises: a first upper facial member, a second lower facial member and an insulation member in intimate, planar contact with both the first upper member and second lower members. The first and second facial members are made from the same reinforcing fiber material less than about 3/16 inch thick. The insulation member comprises a foam layer, said structural insulation sheathing having at least 10×, preferably 15 to 20 times greater strength than its individual components.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20200217063
Abstract: This invention comprises an insulative wall sheeting with purposefully overlapping barriers along all four lateral sides to a given sidewall sheet product hereunder. This system has moisture permeability and results in an improved installation method with an insulation rating of R2 or greater. The system comprises nonstructural sidewall panels that are preferably greater than about 1 inch thick.

  • Publication number: 20190316352
Abstract: This invention comprises a wall or roof sheathing with purposefully overlapping barriers along at least one lateral edge, preferably along two adjacent lateral edges and, most preferably, along all four lateral sides to a given sheet product hereunder. This system has moisture permeability and results in an improved installation method. The system comprises both structural and nonstructural panels, either insulated or non-insulated, in the form of wall and/or roof sheeting.

  • Patent number: 9739084
Abstract: A rigid insert for using as an intermediate insulation component when installing a new or replacement window or door. The insert comprises an integrally formed, L-shaped section with: (i) a thin leg component designed for positioning against a long edge of the structural frame for this window or door; and (ii) a thick base component perpendicular to the thin leg component. The L-shaped section is glued to the structural frame and to adjoining sections at its mitered corners. A method for reducing thermal bridging with such inserts is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
