  • Patent number: 8133060
Abstract: In one embodiment, an electric plug can comprise a housing, a rotatable plug assembly, and a blade array. The housing can have a bottom piece and a top piece including a first opening. The bottom piece can be in mechanical communication with the top piece and forming a cavity defined by the interior surface of the top piece and the interior surface of the bottom piece. The rotatable plug assembly can have a top surface and a bottom surface opposite each other, where a first portion of the rotatable plug assembly can comprise the bottom surface and be located within the cavity, and where a second portion of the rotatable plug assembly can protrude from the cavity via the first opening. The blade array can include a plurality of plug blades, each plug blade of the plurality of plug blades having an outlet end and a connector end, the connector end of each plug blade located within the rotatable plug assembly.

  • Patent number: 7938679
Abstract: Active clamping of an electronic device such as a power strip to the edge of a desk, table, or board featuring at least one force-redirecting mechanism comprising one, two, four, or more moving parts and biasing mechanisms that bias the moving parts into contact with the edge, such that a frictional force increases a clamping force to resist removal of the device from the edge. Different embodiments feature a roller, a ramp, and springs, or cams and springs. In some embodiments, one or two arms project from a housing of the device, which define or form a void configured to engage the edge, and, in certain embodiments, one of the arms has a pivot mount and a release mechanism, or a rotatable knob and clamp. Various embodiments feature a housing containing electronic components such as surge suppression components, power receptacles, a cord, a status indicator, pins, and elastomeric surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7930004
Abstract: A holder, electrical supply, and optional radio frequency transmitter unit to hold, supply power to, and receive a data signal from an operating electronic device when the device (e.g., MP3 player) is held in the unit is disclosed. Electrical power enters the unit's power acquisition portion (e.g., cigarette lighter adapter) from an external source and flows to the electronic device via the holder. A data signal from the electronic device is processed by an radio frequency transmitter in the unit, and the resulting radio frequency signal is broadcast by an antenna (e.g., gooseneck) that preferably forms a repositionable mechanical connection between the holder and the power acquisition unit.
