  • Publication number: 20230292804
Abstract: This specification discloses thermally inhibited waxy cassava starches and edible compositions made therefrom. In one aspect edible compositions have improved creaminess compared to prior art starches, independent of starch usage level and the viscosity provided by the starch. In an embodiment the edible composition comprises between 0.1% and 35.0% by weight. In various embodiments the thermally inhibited waxy cassava starch has a peak viscosity of between about 100, and 2000 Brabender units or between 500 and 1500 Brabender Units.

  • Publication number: 20160062788
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention and provide a method for distributed virtual machine (VM) image management in a cloud computing management includes receiving in a hypervisor executing in memory of a host computer, a request for VM image data from a VM and determining whether or not the requested VM image data is present in a local cache of either the hypervisor of the host computer or in a cache of a hypervisor of a peer host. The method additionally includes retrieving the requested VM image data from a seed image in a remote data store in the cloud computing environment only when it is determined that the VM image data neither is present in the local cache of the hypervisor of the host computer nor is present in the cache of the hypervisor of the peer host.

  • Publication number: 20130014683
Abstract: A rigid foil sail having a full length vertical leading edge whose trim angle/angle of attack is controlled by the main sheet and trailing edge flaps attached rearwardly of the leading edge, each of which can be independently trimmed from a convenient deck level control tray to achieve easily adjustable camber. The design of the rigid foil sail allows depowering of the sail without altering mainsheet trim by decreasing the camber of the upper trailing flap thus also decreasing the heeling force created by the power of the upper trailing flap. Further, a void within the foil is filled with a lighter than air gas to assist in countering heeling moment to allow the boat to be driven without the loss of upwind pointing performance and without the loss of power and also allowing the boat to be driven to windward more efficiently with a minimum heel angle.

  • Publication number: 20120285354
Abstract: A rigid foil sail having a full length vertical leading edge whose trim angle/angle of attack is controlled by the main sheet and at least two trailing edge flaps attached rearwardly of the leading edge, each of which can be independently trimmed from a convenient deck level control tray to achieve easily adjustable camber. The design of the rigid foil sail allows depowering of the sail without altering mainsheet trim by decreasing the camber of the upper trailing flap thus also decreasing the heeling force created by the power of the upper trailing flap. Such an arrangement allows the boat to be driven without the loss of upwind pointing performance and without the loss of power caused by luffing of the sail. Similarly, the boat can be better balanced by allowing the boat to be driven to windward more efficiently with a minimum heel angle.

  • Publication number: 20090205551
Abstract: A sailboat having a hull with a mast is provided that includes a boom and gaff that are both supported away from the mast. Both ends of the boom and gaff are connected by stays so that a vertical plane is created. The sail is raised and lowered by a pair of forward and aft halyards and the boom has a usual trimming sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080104697
Abstract: An apparatus and method for authenticating users on a data processing system is implemented. The present invention provides for aggregating authenticated identities and related authorization information. A security context created in response to a first user logon is saved in response to a second logon. A composite or aggregate security context is created based on the identity passed in the second logon. Access may then be granted (or denied) based on the current, aggregated security context. Upon logout of the user based on the second identity, the aggregate security context is destroyed, and the security context reverts to the context previously saved.
