  • Publication number: 20230318875
Abstract: Protocol detection circuits for detecting the field device protocol of a field device attached to a channel having a data line are sequentially connected to the data line by a controller that communicates to the field device through the protocol detection circuits. The protocol detection circuits are disconnected from the field device after protocol detection is completed. The channel may be one of a number of channels; the controller may also connect and disconnect the protocol detection circuits from the one channel whereby the protocol detection circuits can be used with any channel. After the protocol of the field device is identified a protocol adapter can be inserted into the channel to enable data conversion between the field device protocol and an another protocol used by the channel for data transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220346778
Abstract: Various embodiments for a surgical element carrier are described. The surgical element carrier includes a housing dimensioned for insertion through a surgical port during a surgery, where the housing has a first housing portion and a second housing portion movable relative to the first housing portion between a closed position and an open position. The surgical element carrier is configured to retain surgical elements, such as sutures, in a stacked arrangement within the housing that are accessible when the surgical element carrier is in the open position. Further, the surgical element carrier further includes a spacer having a spacer body. The spacer may be positioned between at least two of the surgical elements. The spacer includes a projecting portion extending from a side of the spacer, where the projecting portion may fold over the spacer body to at least partially overlap one of the surgical elements positioned thereon.

  • Patent number: 11197386
Abstract: A field device I/O connector includes a base and an I/O module removably mounted on the base for transmitting I/O signals along an I/O channel. A set of electrical connectors mounted on the base connect the base to a field device. The electrical connectors, the base, and the I/O module mounted on the base cooperate to define the I/O channel. The I/O channel includes a conversion circuit to convert between I/O signals and a digital data format output from the field device I/O connector. The base and I/O module also cooperate to define a diagnostic circuit connected to the portion of the I/O channel extending through the I/O module. The diagnostic circuit extends to a diagnostic logic circuit that may be included on the base, in the I/O module, or away from the field device I/O connector.

  • Publication number: 20210110474
Abstract: Blockchain, or distributed ledger network technology, facilitates and accelerates foreign currency (FX) transactions and makes them reliable and trusted by prequalifying participants in the transactions to participate. Prequalifying participants enables funding of the transaction before parties enter into a trade, reducing the time required to consummate a transaction. In one aspect, the credit aspect of these transactions is disaggregated from the transactions themselves, eliminating credit risk and delivery risk, among others. Immutability of data in the blockchain enhances transaction reliability, and promotes confidence on both sides of a given transaction. In another aspect, fully collateralized fiat coins (FCFC) residing within the blockchain are based on an underlying fiat currency. Within the blockchain, the FCFC are their own currency.
