  • Patent number: 11989394
Abstract: Devices, methods and graphical user interfaces for manipulating user interfaces based on fingerprint sensor inputs are provided. While a display of an electronic device with a fingerprint sensor displays a first user interface, the device may detect movement of a fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor. In accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a first direction, the device allows navigating through the first user interface, and in accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a second direction different from the first direction, the device allows displaying a second user interface different from the first user interface on the display.

  • Patent number: 5353673
Abstract: A mouthpiece for brass-wind musical instruments has at one end a shank (22) that is inserted into the brass-wind instrument, and at the opposite end an enlarged head containing a cavity called the cup, this cup having a rim surface (34) that is adapted to be pressed against the lips of the user. The shank (22) contains an air passageway (24) which extends to the cup for the purpose of conducting air and lip vibrations into the instrument. Incorporated into the cup, rim surface (34) or both is a lip restrictor (28) for limiting the amount that, the users bottom lip enters the mouthpiece. This lip restrictor (28) extends upper register and eases playing effort without affecting tone.

  • Patent number: 4163042
Abstract: In a container assembly for an exhaust emission control catalyst for internal combustion engines, of the kind comprising a cylindrical substrate body carrying the catalyst and mounted within a sheet metal casing with the interposition of a compressible cushioning layer of refractory material, an open-seam sheet metal shroud of variable circumference is used to enclose the compressible layer and to compress it prior to, or simultaneously with, endwise insertion into the casing. The shroud or the casing may have elongated ribs pressed in it, the ribs tapering at their ends to facilitate entry.

  • Patent number: 4107464
Abstract: An alarm communication system including a circuit for normally transmitting music to a plurality of different locations within a building which includes a source of music, a plurality of speakers selectively positioned throughout the building and a normally closed switch for connecting the source of music to each of the speakers. A source of programmed alarm announcements stored on a tape is converted to an electrical signal, amplified and coupled to each of the speakers via an override switch. Actuation of an override switch in response to the occurrence of an emergency condition, such as a fire, causes the normally closed switch to open and couples the electronic signal corresponding to the programmed alarm announcements to each of the speakers. A microphone is provided which is selectively actuatable upon the closing of a switch to couple instantaneous voice communications to each of the aforementioned speakers while at the same time inhibiting the programmed alarm announcements being coupled thereto.
