Abstract: A meal tray assembly including a meal tray for being mounted for movement between a stowage position flush against a seat back and a lowered, horizontal use position. A latch access port extends through the meal tray from the top side to the bottom side thereof. A latch is carried on the seat back for cooperation with the latch access port in the meal tray. The latch is mounted for movement between a release position wherein the latch is extendable through the latch access port for permitting movement of the meal tray to and from the stowage position and the use position, and a locking position wherein the latch locks the meal tray in the stowage position against the surface.

Abstract: A passenger seat of the type having passenger-controllable functions, and including a seat base, a seat frame mounted on the seat base, and a seat back and seat bottom carried by the seat frame. The passenger seat includes at least one passenger-operable function. A function control communication system is carried by the passenger seat for operative communication with a rearward-facing seat back panel of a second passenger seat positioned immediately forward of the passenger seat. Function controls carried on the rearward-facing seat back panel for operative connection with the function control communication system, that may be wireless and remotely or manually operable, for permitting a passenger seated in the passenger seat to control functions of the seat by utilization of the function controls on the seat back panel of the second passenger seat immediately forward of the passenger.

Abstract: Legrest assembly for a passenger seat is pivotally mounted to the seat frame with a spring-loaded hydraulic lock mechanism which automatically lifts a leg or foot support panel to its generally horizontal use position when a control button on the armrest is actuated. The panel is pivotally moved to its storage position under the front edge of the seat cushion when the occupant forces it down with pressure from his or her legs against the upward biasing force exerted by its spring while actuating the control button on the armrest. For maximum comfort, the legrest pad is slidable through a range of fore and aft locations in its use position and can also be locked at any angle in its range of pivotal movement. A series of interconnected links cooperate with one another and with the seat frame in such a manner so as to substantially eliminate encroachment into the normal underseat storage area. A resettable mechanism prevents damage to the assembly from excessive downward loads on the suspended legrest pad.
